Anyone else having trouble accessing the National Lottery website?

I have tried several times throughout the day and all I get is a long wait; followed by "This page cannot be displayed....!"

LOL - maybe mate!!

It's not urgent as I play by direct debit, so I already have my ticket, I just wanted to buy a lucky dip for tonight.... What possible reason could there be that you guys can get on OK but I cannot? I mean every other website I have tried to access today loads up just fine:confused:

It gets odder - I switched off the Wi-Fi on my phone and used the mobile network to access the 'net instead of home internet.... And it worked! I got my ticket...

So it seems like a problem with my broadband provider preventing access to the 'site for some reason....?

I have sky too, don't know why we are still with them because they are an absolute load of ball bags!

As Jaikai said, they block so many sites

They don't block any sites for me ......

There were issues similar to this last week.

It's caused by older servers reaching their max routing limits. There were a number if articles about it last week.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Is that with the lottery web-site or the ISPs......

All the major internet carriers !

Its like the Y2K bug in a way, years ago they never thought that there would be so many websites / routes to destinations.

Every major carriers routers hold a cached copy of all the major routes of the internet and last week and new major TLD's

were launched the top limit that these routers can handle was reached.

Luckily for most it was just a firmware update for the fix rather than a full replacement.

Our own host had this problem just over a week ago but they upgraded there main routers fairly quickly.
