I've just turned 20, got a UK TT and insurance is a rip off at bout £1800 TPFT.

 

Checking a thread on this forum someone recomended TSB... Wait for it.... £700 fully comp!!!

 

my Rover 620Ti on TPFT is alot more than that!

Hmmm, now I called TSB (being a customer of theirs and getting endless bits of paper telling me that their car insurance would be cheaper and then I'd get a 10% diccount, blah, blah, blah etc) and they wouldn't cover imports !!!! Feckers ....

Unfortunatly I only noticed it AFTER I just forked out £900 for mine 23 4 years NCB, TPFT.

A word of caution to temper your ecstacy .. (sorry):( ... but I got a ridiculously low quote off TSB too (on the quick quote), and I couldn't get the full quote to work either to start with ... when it finally did submit, it came back with a referral - and I've got a UK TT too, old git (31) etc., so it's not that.

 

So, I gave 'em a call, but they wouldn't quote cos it's more than thirty days to my renewal (need to shop around these days, eh?:D ) - it still remains to be seen if it's as good as the quick quote suggests ... I hope so!!

Got a quick quote from thre TSB website at £630 Fully comp, when i rang them up it went up to £1900 TPFT :eek:

What reason did they give for that??!

cos that's rediculous.

They're an insurance company, they don't need a reason :D

who are TSB? whats the site?

 

 

when I was 20 my insruance was 1800 TPFT

 

when im 21 with firebond (not shopped around yet) that drops to £1400 fully comp.

 

(zero no claims due to owning historic vehcles and 2 accidents, one at fault one 50%, 0 points)

TSB = Toytown Savings Bank = LloydsTSB (these days)
