Does anyone have any experience of Keith Michaels for their Zed insurance?

I'd never heard of them but a google search brought them up and at the moment they are my lowest quote so tempted to go with them. Initial sales service seems good but then sales always is.

Any feedback good/bad?

Not heard of them before but just did a credit check on them and they look heathy enough from a busienss perspective £2.5m turnover with £280k profit after tax and dividends etc. They have been going for a while so not a fly by night operation.

Yea, saw that too. They seem legitimate and I did a search on here and they've had a few mentions but was a while back and no reviews as such.

Think I'll go with them anyway. I'm actually very impressed by the people I've spoken to this year on my renewal search - they all seemed to have a good grasp of spoken English and could form legible sentences. A stark contrast compared to last year, including Sky, who I ended up going with. Promised myself I wouldn't stay with them past the 1year mark hence the move.

Hi Vig, I went with LynBrooke in Witham who are equity red star and do classic insurance on driveways.....

My parents used Keith Michaels every year and they have had no problems with them......

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Just ploughing through half dozen insurance companys now. I will give Keith Michaels a go.

At the moment Adrain Flux are looking good for me.

Yup - they're a brokers and have been going for some time now. What matters more, is which company is actually providing/underwriting the insurance.... Since most brokers pick policies from similar insurers, it all comes down to which one gets the best deal at the time you're looking to insure.

If the policy is with a credible insurer and has everything that you need included, go for it.... And thanks for the heads up - as mine is due for renewal mid-Sept..

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Cheers for the comments guys!

I did end up going with Keith Michaels. Will wait to receive the paperwork - told it would be by tomorrow! - and go from there but so far so good. Saved myself £60 on the lower renewal premium quoted by Sky so I'm happy!

I tried A-Plan last year and all seemed well but I never heard back from them with a quote after spending quite some time on the phone going through all my details. Didn't call back this year.

I had Lynbrook on the list last year but didn't think to go call them this year.

Flux - I have absolutely no idea what planet they're on. Every single year I get a quote from them and every single year I laugh my ass off as I hang up and go somewhere else. Garaged car, limited mileage, 10+ yrs NCB, clean licence and no claims, 32yo and still comes in over £1k. Finger in the air insurer if ever there was one! My bike is actually insured with Equity Red Star but I didn't go through Fluix which is maybe why it was a reasonable quote - no 'Flux Markup'!

Footman james have quoted me £160 on a classic policy for my tt, im 26 have no ncb to use on that car and have a claim, tried them?

This is what winds me up about insurance ^^^^ I'm very nearly 40, clean licence, 10 years+ NCB, no claims or accidents and Footman James refused to even give me a quote...!!! :cursing:

Finger in the air when you go for insurance quotes.

I didn't try FJ this time around but find that due to the level of modifications I have, I'll likely never get a quote as low as that. If I did, I'd be worried about the 'real' level of cover I was signing up to!

Flux are a joke though. Always have been.

I tried FJ a few years back and they wouldnt cover me due to mods which "increase the cars power by more than 10%". Seriously?

An Air filter, exhaust and remap would eaasily notch that ~30bhp up!!!

I tried Flux out of courtesy for them being a listed trader, and found the same problem with out of touch prices.

FJ gave me a reasonable price first time, closer to what i was expecting, and a third of the Flux quote.

Yes I use them for my Twin Turbo. I have used them for quite some time now. I used to used A Plan imports dept but they ended up trying to charge me 2K even though I am 44 and have full no claims with protected bonus :tt2::tt2:
