Dust has just about settled on the Coventry show.

As such, it's time to look to the future. As well as asking for feedback from those who attended, I would like all members to answer the poll please.

Definitely yes for me, I added my compliments on another thread,

I think a National dedicated event is the answer. This was a 25th anniversary (they don't come round every year!) and despite pledges of 60+ cars we managed just over 40. Despite missing 20 or so cars the event was great with the added distraction of the museum that made it a good day out.

Do local events get these numbers? Lets face it at a 30th anniversary we may struggle to fill a phone box. If you ever look at the "How many are there left" site you'll see there are less of us every year.

I think a yearly National event with a northern or southern venue in alternate years to share the pain then no one has any complaints (apparently!)

I'm into the scooter scene too and there are monthly rallies all over the country with extra local events nearly every weekend but everyone aims to get to THE National on the Isle of Wight on the August Bank Holiday

Thanks for all the comments guys.

I'll take all these ideas away and you'll see some announcements later in the year.

Safe to say there will be a single day static event on next years calender though.

Steve Friday evening on the M25 was a complete pita.

M25? That's that parking lot that surrounds London isn't it? Haha

Coventry has too much concrete ...

Loved the meet,

And a large z32 meet each year is a top idea, especially if it's organised as well as the weekend was

...but I think changing the location each year would be best

I voted an easy yes... Despite my ridiculous idea to start a manual conversion on a sorn'd and MOT-less Z a week before the meet I enjoyed the meet and catching up with friends and putting new faces to names. I didn't get around the museum but will do next time. I would also travel to a different destination so to sum up easy as to where the meet is held, but would need to be a central location.

Haha concrete on the floor is fine!

Bit of a concrete jungle elsewhere

As a Coventry kid born and bred, I can understand that at first glance things can appear a bit concrete.

Once you start to explore the surrounding areas, things can become very interesting.

A bit biased I know, but there is more.

Honest! :lol::lol::lol:

I voted yes. I had four or five gen public get in my car for photos etc. it was good to meet non meet people. I thought that was the idea. My car is to be used and seen.

I'm in on the venue,if it a future planned thing. The weather, yes was random but I've been to JAE and it's been a fookin hurricane etc! That's life.

I think it is a great idea for this type of meeting. Varying the location each year would also get my vote, there are lots of motor / transport museums, for example, around the country to visit. How about York or Duxford as other options? Not car museums but good places for anyone with families to have something to do.

As for Joe public, I would have been more worried at JAE with some of the people who have walked through the area over the years.

Lexx, thanks for doing all the work you did on the Coventry meet.

I actually quite liked the location, right next to the shops, killed 40 mins in the museum and so on. Also the car park was ideal for everyone to park in. I voted yes for the yearly thing but do agree varying locations would be great.

I get where rolandas is coming from, generally the public were all fine but there were one or 2 spoofed youths on bikes that id have kept an eye on (but they did nothing wrong to their credit). I think its natural to worry but generally, I think the public just saw something was going on and were interested to come and have a look which I thought was great. If it was just members, it'd not have been as good.

To be constructive for future events. The great thing about ferry bridge (sorry to reference that) was the drive out, it could be worth meeting at a first location for an hour or so, then everyone convoying tommgether to the new location, perhaps event through the town centre or something. Just a thought of course.
