the rear shocks on the swb are gone, any idea how much a new set of oem ones are?

Featured Replies

Sadly prices on these seem to have rocketed, IIRC they are about £100/corner for genuine OEM.

Contact MJP in the traders section to get the latest price and options.

Or you can get some used ones, however, you may find yourself in the same boat not long down the road.

OEM seem to have gone up in price, but you can get Sachs from Rockauto.com for €55 - €60 (about £50 each) - shipping will however cost you a bit, and then you may have import charges (which in Ireland I usually do not get hit by ).

Was checking prices as I recently fitted a pair of KYB's that I bought years ago (needed fronts then - but bought a set of 4 - only recently changed rears).

uk they are like rocking horse poo, i had to buy some for mine a while back. only ebay option was bilsteins at £300 a pair, i ended up buying a set of kyb excell from z1 for $249 for a set of 4 plus shipping etc. that at the time was my only option i did look at stock shocks but as stated above prices on those has gone through the roof they used to be £55 a corner 6/7 years ago i think zed centre are around £120 plus vat

Anyone used the Sachs shocks?

£133 delivered for a pair of rears seems worth the risk.

Mine are shot to shit too and desperately need replacing.

I remember buying a set a few years ago for the red one, I think from the z centre, and they were cheap as chips for oem ones, because at that time not many wanted them seemingly, most were going for fancier ones. I will shop around, thanks

Sachs usually makes 'good stuff' from my own experience. Believe that they are OEM for some BMW models (incl M3), and I would see their quality as being very good. How good their Z32 damper is, I would not know, but I would consider ....

and my order from Rockauto (two O2 sensors) a few weeks ago got through customs nicely .....
