Over the past few days I've noticed that the brake light stays on after I've started up.It stays on for most of the journey(to work, about 16 miles)but occasionaly goes off when I brake harder than normal.

I've checked the brake fluid level and that seems OK,any ideas?

Cheers,

F.T.

There is usually a sensor on the brake pedal which turns the light on. Dont know if its the same for a Z but it may have got dirty.

Sorry,I mean the brake warning light on the dashboard.

In that case it's probably either the handbrake adjustment or the brake fluid level.

my moneys on the fluid level, the level goes down as the pads wear, so it maybe worth checking the pads.

Had the Z serviced yesterday, and the problem was the handbrake sensor which has now been sorted.

Also said for the next service I''ll probably need a set of front pads. Are the standard Nissan ones OK or should I get some others?

Cheers,

F.T.

Nissan standard ones for the ZX are bout £60 a pair. You could get EBC ones which are suposed to be better. People go for EBS green stuff, which are for general road use. Personally I would go for red stuff, because the description says it for faster and heavier sportscars as well as light track use.
