Good spec if he can prove the BHP but there are a lot of things i don't like on that car. Interior, stick on chrome letters all over the place on the dash etc.

I'm sure it'll be to somebodys taste though but maybe not somebody's wallet.

He'll ship it for £5.65 which is great though ;)

Looks damn ugly though, like it crashed through Halfords' shop window. Like the seats though - considering going alcantara on mine. So much stick-on tat. Rally mudflaps too! I LOL'd when I saw those nailed to the bumper!

This examply is over priced, it doesn't even have any spectacular power figures.

It does look clean though, so it is saveable. Generally, bodykitted up 300zxs take longer to sell and are never worth what their owners think they are. The market for 'Max Power' style 90s McDonalds cars has all but dropped off a cliff (thankfully).

Where? There is virtually no spec and a power figure of 375bhp....

Yeah, sorry. I shouldn't have used the word good (or really the word spec).

I basically meant has he any paperwork to show the figures or is it a wire in ebay "chip" that drives his BHP up.

When "souper uppers" post their ads for cars like this a lot of them just think of a number and stick it in there with no Dyno readouts

The example that KGF had for sale at £3995.00, and the price Baz paid for his '99 spec are far more realistic IMO. But as a potential buyer I would say that. Good, clean, rot free examples with proven history and graphs to back up any power claims will not only sell for a premium but obviously will sell easier.

Saying that, we are not all from the same mould, so a freshly painted Zed with body kit will have far more appeal to some than an OEM+ example. It's not to my taste but I can still respect the time, effort and skill put into executing it, if it is done to a high standard.

Daffy.

I think the 300zx prices are to low really under valued and the Toyota supra on the other hand are over priced my mate has one he wants 10k for it I think not

Baz paid something stupid like £1000 for it or something, might have been less! That's not a realistic price for a 99-spec!!

As I said, I'm buying not selling lol

£6.5k and he's posted a picture of an insulation tape-wrapped steering wheel as a selling point...??? :wack:

How did I miss that? I just thought it looked shit, but upon zooming....MY WORD! Those pedal suck too. I can't stand aftermarket pedals. My Z came with Razo pedals. They came off within an hour of owning it!

One of my better ones, no less...!

I assumed you were too dumbstruck by it to deem it even worthy of comment, mate! ;)

Seriously though: how could anyone attach such a price tag whilst having a tape-wrapped steering wheel...??

The very same! I remember when a rattle can painted rotter came up for sale for a similar price and I just couldn't comprehend the price tag. I will happily hand over good money for a top quality Z32, but what I consider top quality Z32s are few and far between.

Here's how I see basic pricing structure on Z32s, these could be modified, but not 'Max Power' type monstrosities - this is irrespective of bodystyle as good examples of SWB and LWB models don't seem to vary all that much, similarly with UK vs JDM models, however an immaculate UK car is sought after, but very very rarely come up for sale as there are hardly any about.

Tatty NA : £500 - £750

Average NA : £750 - £1200

Clean NA : £1200 - £2000

Immaculate NA : £2000 upward to about £3,000

Tatty TT auto: £1000 - 1200

Tatty TT manual : £1200 - £1500

Average TT auto: £1200 - £1750

Average TT manual : £1500 - £2000

Clean TT auto : £1750 - £3,000

Clean TT Manual : £2,000 - £3,500

Immaculate TT Auto : £3,000 - £4,000 (almost non-existent)**

Immaculate TT Manual : £3,500 - £5,000 + (almost non existent)**

Convertibles generally sit around the £3,500 - £4,000 mark

** denotes individual merits of examples from specification to quality of paintwork, body and specialist vehicles like Pentroof and M30Z type examples which are worth considerably more. Perfect examples have no reason for not going over the £5k mark (Terry's car when complete for example should be work around the £6k mark), but generally those are not these OTT examples styled on airfix kits, irrespective of how much work and effort went into it. Typically the market and general public alike, prefer the car in its original format as a visual piece. Good mechanical enhancements generally make the Z far more sellable over bodykits, silly spoilers and crazy paint.

Looks like a good price guide, should make it a sticky

Looks like a good price, should make it a sticky

Prices do change however, so it might be valid for today. Generally, they've stayed relatively constant I think. But what we're now seeing are less and less shitty ones. The real dogs have gone to the breakers, there are practically none being imported now, bodykitted wonders are falling out of favour and the car is increasingly becoming a true enthusiast car rather than a cheap-thrills vehicle.

I bought my first one in 2007, I would say since that time the value has gone up about £1000 for that car (if it was still about) so I don't think prices change that often, other that for special examples

I paid about £5k for mine from memory in 04 which, even back then was considered the top end of the values and I think between 04 to a few years ago, their values have been what I'd consider their lowest, they have climbed as an average, but I think that is because the low value cars that brought the perceived market value down have become fewer and far between, however, there are some dogs that come up on ebay. I certainly wouldn't want it to go for anything less today if ever I were to sell it which I have absolutely no intention in doing.

I think yours would be more like 6 - 7k as it's very clean, I know I'd pay that for one like yours. I hope mine will fall into that price range when it's done as the body is immaculate

there is a other way to look at all this.. the 300zx is a cheap good value performance car that just about anyone can afford to buy. so who cares what there worth nowdays it really does not matter anymore. long you enjoy having one that's what really counts.
