it was working fine, then needle just sank to zero.

 

everything else seems to be working fine, ive had the dash out checked wiring

Speed sensor on the gearbox is prone to failure and will cause this. The sensor itself "separates". There is a repair write up by Jeff if you search.

Most definitely mate, probably best if you remove the interior as well and the gearbox, rear subframe, wheels and targas. Just to be safe...

They are off anyway steams, I was changing a headlight bulb... lol

 

That's probably why the rev counter stopped work mate. For best results it really needs to be installed in the car and wired up....lol

Rev counter gets its signal from the cas unit via the ecu loom, not a common problem to be honest.

Oh sorry, speed sensor affects the speedo and not the rev counter.....

I think..... Can't remember now. No help at all really. I'll be quiet now.
