Well,

Off work today so decided to try to convert my old rear lights to the '99 spec version. What a bitch!! The glue is the WORST stuff i have ever worked with (worse than silicone and Sikoflex put together). Couldn't get the cases apart properly. Finally managed to get one of them apart but then cracked the other one trying.

They are now in the bin!!

That is all.

Peter

You did take the little screw out of the back, didn't you...?

They can be a pig to do - my first attempt wasn't the greatest, admittedly. Hope you've got a spare pair! :(

Little screw............................................F*********K

No......I did not. (didn't even see one)

To be honest though, the first one managed to come apart (eventually) without removing any little screw.

Yep, a little screw that goes into the reflector - that'll have added to your problems in getting them apart! And I imagine your first unit came apart after you sheared the screw out of it's housing, mate...

I cannot stress how much patience is needed to separate a set of rear lights.

You need at least 40 mins per light to ensure that you don't melt them or crack them or split them.

I had twice that time lol.

And yeah mondo, the first one did snap at the indicator. :(

Not to worry though, they were a spare set so it was worth a bash.
