My tax in the oil burner runs out at the end of this month and I've just renewed for a year.

 

Kinda wishing I'd remembered about the new rules coming in soon. Now I'm stuck till this time next year...lol

Yes..... And no!!

 

Always best to renew for a year - it costs less; plus you delay the inevitable increase for a few months at least......

 

.....But after October, even if you have purchased a year's rent, there'll no longer be the legal requirement to display the disc - so you can remove it altogether!!

 

However if anybody would still like a 300zx.co.uk club tax disc holder (for example to display your 25th anniversary sticker) then please drop Gary Wilson a PM....:wink:

Why? Because everything is electronic now and it's an antiquated and outdated document that is no longer required. The whole system is being overhauled and you'll be able to pay monthly via DD. Comes into effect in October. :)

I wonder if more people will no pay there road tax as in if a copper walked by your car he has a fast reff by just looking to see if there is tax if there is no disc then he would have to run it through the system to find out if its taxed.

The country is covered with ANPR systems now as well as police cars having it. It will automatically tell the Police that the car isn't taxed, insured or mot'd all from your number plate.. They wouldn't get away with for very long...
