why would this happen, in the morning or no matter what time of day, damp hot cold wet or dry i start the car up and here goes the fun starts, the car starts as it always has done on the button, really quick with a couple of quick cranks starts, ( perfect ) then with a cold car i drive down a raod that is exactly one mile long. i get to the end of these junction with the revs a tiny advanced cas of cold engine, nicly slow down rd 40 mph. then i turn left out of a t junction the right straghtr away then drive down the next road of witch is just over a mile long. half way down this road and in this time scale my car within minutes poss about three to four pendeng traffic starts to just to reach norm working temp were it stays though out the day no matter what. this is then when for yhe next thirty seconds to a minute the car starts to act like its stafved of fuel and run like a sack of shiiit, so i carry on be the time ive got to the end of the road the second mile the car reaches working temp and runs as if nothing as ever happened at at all. why is this, the i havnt touch or moved nothing but i would and could bet a morgage payment this happens everyday i use it but then no issues. why would this happen.? what dose the temp thing going on do to a car. i have put a fmic in and im thinking that the ecu dosnt like what ive done now the air fuel has changed cas ive not mapped it yet since i put a fmic in, and when getting up tp working temp the ecu reajust everything somehow then all is ok or am i far from the mark. surrjestions welcome as always, cheers

So there's a spot when its warming up that i runs like crap?..... highly doubt its got anything to do with fmic, that would only change inlet air temp. unless there is a vac leak and im sure that wouldn't cause this issue.

Next time it dose is try pulling plugs of your coil packs one at a time, if you find one that makes no difference there could be a fault with a coil pack/injector or maybe the injector plug. i had intermittent issues due to plugs.

hope that helps :)

Check your temp sender for corrosion, sounds like its telling the ecu the engine still isnt up to temp.

thanks but it cant be that as its not intermitent its only on the warming up cycle and does it like clockwork but thanks, prop could do with a set of plugs anyway.

that has been repared the wiring to it by someone else before and so sounds like that to me aswell, deth temp oriontated, best cheapest place to buy the correct thing, Mark will no and thanks Groover thats what he suspected as well.

With the greatest respect it took me best part of four times to read your original post to make head of it????? unclear and ambiguous makes it very hard to diagnose especially for aspiring posters.

Ok going by your one description of it feeling like it is running out of fuel then it is NOT the temp sensor as this would make it run lumpy as it would be running rich, however again from your description of it running okay other times then its is very likely a connection issue, quite where is not always clear and would be inclined to make a general check of all easy connection as a start point from the afm, tps, cas and more.

Reading that has made my head hurt.

If you want help, then make what your issues clearly and well typed.

A massive block of badly punctuated text is so difficult to read it's hard to pick out the individual symptoms of your issue.

I'm only saying this as you are more likely to get responses if people can actually read and take in what your problems are. :)

sorry about my english. basically its runs fine for the first mile up the road whilst engine is cold. Then as the car is nearly at working temp within two miles from a cold start, the car runs really lumpy and if you put your foot down more its like its missing fuel or starving. Only droping down a gear and giving her a quick rev with your foot on the clutch then driving to the end of the road then she runs fine. by which time the temp is now at the correct working temp smack bang in the middle of the gadge. If i stop and start again absolutly fine. weired. Only happens getting upto temp. Hope this is more clear.

Have you tried this with the aircon on? Be interesting to see if the extra revs etc carry the engine through.

It runs fine cold and it runs fine hot, however that in the middle stage it's suffering...that about the just if it? Could be a vac leak that is masked by the extra fuel when stone cold and once warm the engine components swell closing the gap?

Isn't your car at marks being worked on mate? Seeing as mark is an expert it makes sense to get him to cast his eye on it and diagnose it, would it not? That's the advantage f getting an expert to work on your car, when mine had some head scratching niggles and I was unable Jeff used his vast experience and sorted things very quickly.

But whislt i spend most of my night with a laptop whislt watching tv. And because i love this forum and i feel that other people can learn and pick up things, then i feel its good to share things. anything you want to share.

Other than what I said in post #9 not at present no...however having read your other post about your leaking clutch booster it does make me wonder if I might be barking up the right tree.

sorry me being thick dont know what your talking about. barking up trees?

It's an expression,

Too bark up the wrong or conversely the right tree.

Essentially it means you've got it wrong, your looking in the wrong area or at the wrong thing. Equally to be barking up the right tree means it's the correct area. It doesn't necessarily mean your saying your correct, mearly that the hunch is looking good.

Kind if struggling to understand what your saying there bud.

As for your typing, it's not always easy, I am honestly aware of that. It often takes me along time to write out a post, my spelling and grammar is dreadful. It's got better, I have to sit and think a bit sometimes but genuinely it's pretty bad. My partner(future wife) laughs at my inability to spell everyday words. She has uncovered a huge extent of bad spelling I have, that I've previously hidden with hand writing that looks like it's just over excited.

Part of it was/is the fact that I don't talk properly to begin with. For example there is no u in simular, the word is similar I only found that out about a year ago.

If we go out to a restaurant, I cannot read the menu. I can literally read it, however the noise in the room etc prevents any of it going in, it's honestly a real struggle. Esp with non native restaurants where the dish description must be read to find out what everything is. I often just can't even be bothered so let her pick, the hour involved in finding something isn't worth it.

So you see I totally sympathise with anyone who's written ability is lower than others, it can make life pretty awkward at times.

As for the rest of that post, you've lost me. I can't see where that has become relevant. I know your having work done currently by mark, that's your choice as a consumer. There are favourite traders on this site, for the fact that they have long standing relationships with the club and it's members, that takes time. I don't have a preferred trader as such, I simply don't use anyone's garage services. I'm having fun learning about my car and getting my hands dirty, I'm pretty enthusiastic in that respect. My car has previously been worked on by Zedworld, who did a good job. Especially in comparison to the cowboys in derby known as "N#*+=? Autospares" who tbh wrecked my car and charged me a lot if money for it, that's where jeff had to step in. The club recommended him and that sorted stuff out.

If I have a preferred mechanic, even though he hasn't worked on my car it's going to be jimmer, not only is he the closest, he's very experienced and I've met him several times and had help over the phone several times more, even helped me out with parts etc. So that would be my choice.

Your choice is your choice, it's a personal thing. So I really don't get what your on about with people being liable for their comments.

Anyways, I hope your issue gets resolved. No reason not to a professional is looking at it. If it is related to a vac/boost leak I will be chuffed as it means I'm getting smarter. If it isn't, which let's be fair is wholly possible I and others may learn something new. That's a good thing, I'm always happy to be educated.

I also hope your right about your diagnoisis. will all have our reasons for taking our cars were we take then, after all this cars are our passion and we spend a lot of time and money on them,so we try to build a working relation with our mechanics and trust as sometimes alot of hard earned cash. thats all im saying. that said, when i find out ill let you know. and as for the english yes its a stuggle, and its now the most inportant thing secound to love in my house hold as my five year old son has reading and spellings with his mum monday to friday and its working really well and he loves getting his words correct, im just glad his got the support of an educated mum. I never did so hopefully his english will be fine. Thanks for your comments.
