Hi all,ive come across this problem and hopeing someone might have an answer,The z was due its mot and i knew it needed 2 new tyres at front, being a tad short of cash before mot i looked for some part worns on ebay, and found 2 yokohama s206 that had only done 150 miles,so ad said!!!.

Anyway my mate who is a professional tyre fitter fitted them but said it looked like they have been on a track as wear to part of the tyre wasnt even.

The car sailed through the mot..yay..then deciding i had been z less for too long i took the old girl out for the afternoon.

This is when the tyre noise showed up.got to about 60 and the sound with windows down is almost like rubber flapping about, like a flat tyre sort of sound, like wind rushing, whooshing sound but really loud..From the outside my father said it was awful rackett and sounds like the car is dragging something.

Ive never experinced noise like this from tyres,so what the hell is it?

My mate has said try balancing tyres and having tracking done or even stick them on back might cure it but im not sure.

take your part worns back and say stick umm were the sun dont shine, before they kill you or someone esle. just my thoughts

right with my first rant over im asumming that you didnt have tyre noise before, na even with near bad tyres cas u woulnt. so for mot u pick up secound hand tyres and like your freind says if there old track tire there goig to have uneven heavy break wear that an mot station isnt going to pick up unless bad wear patches of witch on a rolling radius of a tyre ant going to see.. and dont care and cover mot unless damaged or tred low or uneven with a gage or nacked eye. dude change your tyres its the only thing cantacting you from the rd and will if not correct has the potential not only for insuravec companys not to pay out but have the pottential to kill .please change.

As above, uneven tyre wear especially from another car is no match for your geometry on the zed and is the cause of your road noise.

Cheap tyres can often amplify the road noise, but safer than unknown part worns.

Well i got under the car today and found a bit of plastic trim dangling down, the mot guy must of pulled this and not put it back.,hence it was scraping on road. tucked it up under front spoiler and voila..no more noise,in fact really bloody quiet now..im chuffed as fuxk and taking her out for a spin to goodwood tmrw.
