After a left or right turn and I accelerate there is a momentary rattle that's seems to be coming from the front passenger side area. The rattle starts at low pitch then phases out soon after..

It's very hard to explain the noise I will try to take a video to show the noise.

Thanks

exhaust / cat??

Have you still got the catalytic converter take off pipes going to the AIV's......?

Could be one of them vibrating on floor..... ??

or loose heat shield??

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Sounds very much like my rattle. I have one in every gear at around 2000RPM. I’ve changed (not just to solve this!) clutch, prop shaft – twice, diff - twice and Gearbox mount. Have no heat shields. I think for me it's a worn gearbox input shaft bearing. If stay out of this rev range, there’s no rattle at all.

Mine does that aswel, I thought it was the exhaust is wasnt, I've got virtually no heatsheilds. Glad I'm not alone though.

I have rattles but it's the exhaust against the rear valance and the rear bumper itself where the fitting is slightly loose against the body. Rattles around the 2k rpm and disappears after approx 2.5k rpm

I had the same on my auto, turned out to be the left hand turbo/ exhaust gasket! Normally happened whilst accelerating from 1000rpm to 2000.

Whilst it was on a rolling road test bed at Snetterton. The engineer heard it as he was crouching by the passenger door shouting instructions to me. Next thing, car's was on a ramp with rear wheels in the air. To be honest he found it not me, I just sat in the car. The strangest thing about it was that it didn't make the rattle with just revs, it had to be under load!

I have got a similar situation and after listening to the sound on your video it seems the same, I liken it to laying a steel rule on the propshaft for a few seconds and then lifting it off.

My noise has been there from day 1 and still apparent even though I have a new motor, changed the manual box and have a different one piece prop. I was relubricating my short shifter bush the other day and noticed the bracket that holds up the lever assembly had been modified by the previous owner, the original rubber mount was removed and a flat plate was rivited to the bracket with a hole in the middle for the threaded stud to protrude into. Although there were rubber spacers fitted to afford some cushioning I noticed that the black bracket support assembly was extremely low and close to the prop shaft. I have remedied that situation by changing the rubber spacers in order to lift the black bracket assembly up further away from the prop shaft. I am not suggesting that this is your problem but your video sounds exactly like my noise, may worth a check.

I have not been able to test drive it yet but will do so on Sunday, hope the problem is as simple as that.

I will report back.
