release bearing knackered?

Hi guys,

Got my car back on Thursday after a manual conversion and its great, seems a lot faster. My only issue is when I put my foot on the clutch you can hear the release bearing quite badly spinning. Is this standard on a manual or is the bearing knackered. Hate the thought of having to get the box pulled out again.

Not a standard noise, when the clutch pedal is dipped the bearing is under the maximum load it works at, it also disconnects the first motion ( gearbox input) shaft from the engine drive, so the only thing spinning is the release bearing. I hate so to say it but if the bearing is making noise now it is not going to go any quieter, please tell me you had a new one fitted when the gearbox was fitted?? because if not it will need changing and buy a genuine one not a spurious no make.

Cant believe this is coming back out...... might leave it to the winter now and get some use from it but I suspect it'll be out in the next few days
