I've had a **** year! Today was the icing on the cake!

Hardly driven the Shed-X this year but made it to Trax only to watch Macca have his AFM go tits up!

So drove the car off the drive to go to the Clarkey San meet and the drivers side window went west! Guide pin sheered and meant leaving the car on the drive for a further three weeks with the car cover on. Got that sorted this week and cheaply even at a Nelson!

But then hey, Satan bites you in the arse when you're down...Warren, Muffman and anyone else I've slagged off I take it all back. ;)

This afternoon I took the car up the road and she's stuck in 1st gear(auto) and negat changing taking place. So straight back home then...I checked the autobox fluid before I set out and it was crystal clear and checked it when I got back and still crystal clear but it was showing the same signs of what happened when my box went last year just before Crimbo. Opened the bonnet and smoke and a stink of burnt fluid is what I can assume.

So my box is fcuked AGAIN! Even though I have fitted the aftermarket cooler and it has only covered less than 20 klicks. Fcuking sh1te basically!

Checked my warranty and I've done 17K miles since the box was built...warranty covers 12,000 miles or 12 months whichever the sooner! Well p1issed off!!!

Some people advised me to go for the SE fast road build and if it hadn't been for strapped cash at the time I would've gone for it. So now the Shed is parked up, not going for a manwell conversion but will now have to wait until I get another contract before I can get the bitch down to SE for the fast road build!!!

I can honestly say that I love my car but I will never...ever...buy another Nissan so help me GOD!

Give me Toyota anyday! They(Nissans) are built as a pile of shite! Even had to replace the Crank Angle Sensor on Mrs T's 200 FFS!!!! ARSE!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and the boot doesn't release on her car either so that goes to show that Nissans are all built the same with little regard to long term reliability! My fcuking Ford Capris were more reliable FFS!

Bl00dy cars, more trouble than they're worth.

Group buy on pushbikes, anyone??

Hope you get it all sorted bud

I own two pushbikes and there not that cheap to run!!!!!:D

When I bought this pile of shite I signed a deal with the Devil!

I have pumped so much money into it that to sell would be proving to myself that my mentality is truly one flew over the cukoos nest material.

I can't get another car that looks the way this does and so...bite the tongue and lay out the wonga mate.

Not sure about the queerbox yet anyway, gonna run ConZult tomorrow and see if there is anything more simple causing the lack of gear changing. Massive Roy told me an interesting tale today so gonna see if that is the cause.

I know. Not owned on in years cos mine kept getting stolen.

2 from the garage, 1 from the town centre while it was chained up, 1 when my friend borrowed it, 1 from the shops.

But many a time I had to get the durailia (sp) replaced. Had to get the front crank replaced on a few cos the teath worn out.

One of my bikes has cos me around £200 in the last year at least! Both need constant adjustment to brakes, gears etc.

A zed is just a frustrating to own.

Ivan

Gutted for you, Timmy. I'd offer to take you out in mine again but she's off the road as well. :)

Have to say though, that in just over 4 years of ownership, mine has only needed the PTU and Turbos replacing. She's done about 50,000 miles with me and apart from the above, only the battery has needed to be replaced...oh and the clutch now, of course. :)

Some of us are lucky, I guess and get good examples. Yours seems to have been a constant pain from day 1. Hope you get it sorted soon, mate. :)

Timmy,

gutted for you too, after all you've done

but, i must say, i think i mine has been ok with me...

in 3.5 years, had clutch, brake cylinder, battery and rad, and clutch is more "wear and tear" than the other stuff in a manual...

and a few little minor things

done 50k miles, and now at 150k, and still original turbos, engine and gearbox

although, i do have a lot of little niggly problems, but i can ignore them when nothing major is wrong

also, i previously had a sunny zx coupe, which i took to 140k miles, and sold to a friend. this is still going strong 3.5 years later, and was never any trouble, except for one coil pack breaking down.

luck of the draw i guess..

Feeling for you bud! Mine is still with the auto gearbox people! They hope that it will be looked at sometime this week, and I can't complain at the delay as they are going to do it under the recon warranty. I went to the Classic car show at the NEC and looked at TVRs and GT40 replicas adn very very pi**ed off. Sat here now considering what I am going to do. This year it has had a new engine, new front end, recon on the autobox twice, ecu, injectors, turbos, headlamp panel, evc, aircon pump, decatt pipes, strut brace, sway bars, discs all round, intercoolers, pulleys....FFS the list is fr*gging endless.....It has been off the road somewhere for repairs more than I have driven it all this year. Considering what little I could sell it for and how much it costs me each year to insure, for fuel when I do get to drive it and for the inevitable repairs to keep it on the road, I really can't say it is worth keeping. If I could sell it now and get something more than £10 for it I would do, but that so unrealistic - I HATE NISSANS NOW!

simpathy for you pal..

i have an auto box . imported it from japan

yes and its a 90 . came with 94k kph on it. now have

106k after 2 years.. after a year water pump went

so i did the 60k bit timing belt and all.. then radiator

sprung a leak . got a new one from courtesy. so far

no other problems.. i guess it boils down to luck.

hope mine keeps up. and my autobox stays sane..

regardless the zed is still a great car ..

. i have the only one one my island .

and everyone is scared shit of it..

the other anuses here have honda shits,, preludes and integs.

not in the zed class . so you can say my zed have me on top

and i want to stay there if anyone comes close to my hp

ill upgrade to 400hp... power to zed owners

I just think Zeds are like women, you pick one up because it has the ability to excite you. After its sucked you in with its curves and twin turbos it starts to annoy u with niggly problems.

You think of getting rid but then it goes and gives you a big dose of exitement again and your hooked. So you spend loads of money on it (this is called marriage) it behaves for a short while and then turns ugly, real ugly!

This is proved by my shopping experience on Saturday, Mrs moody as hell, buy her a new jacket and blimey best sex ever that night!

Darn...so what would be MY excuse then??

;)

Mice

;) :D

Hey whatever how ya doin? :D:D:D

CheerZ,

Andy

Timmy thats sh1t news m8 :( I certainly know the feeling when finances stop you from getting it back.

I think the best thing for zeds is to keep them running. It seems that the ones that have the problems spend a long period off the road and then thats it, trouble after trouble. Thats why I replaced EVERY gasket on my engine. Lets hope the valve stem seals don't go now cos they're the only ones left in the kit and I aint pulling that thing apart again LOL. Leaving cars stood for a long period of time does them no good whatsoever. The rubber parts go hard and crack, oil sludge settles and blocks oil ways etc... So for anyone thinking of taking their car off the road for an extended period - THINK CAREFULLY!!!!!

CheerZ,

Andy

Oh thanks alot Andy, youve just jinxed me!! LOL

(slaps forehead) You've done it now...

My Skyline has done 93K, original everything, 400bhp.

As reliable as a Mondeo too, which is nice.

All this and I am totally chilled, what with being a hippy ;)

:)

Thanks for all the sympathy and trust me I need it right now!

She's been on the drive for two days now and to be honest I've not wanted to go near it.

I'll get off my ass tomorrow and run the ConZult as I'm hoping that it's just a fuse or an electrical problem like Mr P and Massive have suggested.

My speed sensor was playing up and I'm hoping(praying) that might have summat to do with this.

Glen,

You make me laugh! What more can I say?

AndyDuff.....tut!

There...I've said it! :p

So saying, mine's been off the road now for 2 weeks!

Sorry to hear about your woes Tim, hope you get the Z back on the road as soon as poss bud.

Dave

Timmy - get these guys to have a look at it:

King Automatics

The Chalk Pit

College Road

Epsom

Surrey

tel: 01372 728769

They are awesome when it comes to autos - rebuilt the box on my Dad's Merc when he'd been told my Mercedes it wasn't possible, was cheap, did another 40k+ before he sold it, etc etc blah blah.

Worth a call IMO.

Timmy good luck mate, got mine back from the auot reconners for the third time and have now been told that I shouldn't bother repairing it again and get a manual gearbox put into it. Hope you have more luck than me.
