Hi guys, sorry I've been a bit slack last month. Very busy times. I've been thinking about meets and locations etc, this has brought up a little idea. So let's have your feed back and get it right.

 

There are a fair few members round the wider Portsmouth area, as well as this side of the forest. So it only seems fair to try to give you guys the opportunity for a localish meet. I'm also aware that not everyone wants to stand in a carpark and talk to strangers. So I propose the following...

 

A session of Go karting this would include two 15 minute races, this allows us to mingle in a less in your face format and trade sober be else's paint. Plus the fact EVERY petrol head loves Go Karts. There is a company called, Team-sport go karting that have two tracks in that rough area Eastleigh and Gosport. There is also another company Go set in Totton, there other two tracks look better IMO. Now obviously this could work up an apatite, maybe some thirst so it would be sensible to cruise on out to a country pub and grab a bite to eat etc, this is where I could do with sone local input.

 

Obviously once we get some more solid details we can start discussing dates.

 

So anyway, discuss and let's get this cracking. Two meets for the sake of one what's not to like.

Yea I'd be up for it...depending on dates as I should be doing 10 days up in Chester 4 days off etc and then off to wales on the 28th June for the week. And there's the beer festival at my local but it's a 3 day thing so can always juggle around that :p

If you fancy doing a joint meet with the SW lot, Avonmouth near Bristol has the biggest karting track in the UK....if you wanna shoot for the end of June, that would be pretty cool.

 

Been thinking about that one, the idea was to try and give those further East a chance, which obviously Avonmouth is pretty far west. If there was a big enough call for it though or the majority preferred that version of events I don't see an issue. Put the feelers out if you will Si.

Got a busy month in June, but might be worth considering Thruxton, has a superb outdoor track (2) and is central to all areas of the compass....plus, good pubs in the area.

 

I guess it's weather permitting but will make a good drive out for those with their Z on the road!!!..............:cursing:

Thruxton could work, as you say its pretty central. All input is welcome here guys.

I went past Wilton house this morning and noticed a banner for Wilton wake up car meet there on the fourth Sunday of every month. I thought that if karting is going to be at thruxton it might be good to tie this in with it.
