Anyone know why any garage I take my car to be plugged in for diagnostics they cant read anything? There saying they have the correct plug and software. .....

Are they trying with OBD2 software? What software are they using??

So, can anyone tell me what OBD is meant to be used? and what software? current or old? obd1 or 2?

The software needed is consult bud.

He will need a consult adaptor or you can buy one from ebay quite cheap and you can download scantech or datascan and check it yourself iirc its OBD1 as its pre OBD11, but the consult adaptor i think is part of the key for translation to the software.

Looking on ebay theres a few consult for nissans , consult 1 2 and 3 would any work? or do I need consult 1? its slightly confusing for me as ODB is the same thing right? so I would need consult 2 or 1. got to learn somehow ;)

then download a copy of Nissan scantech or Datascan or purchase the consult software, consult wont be cheap though, the other two can at least give you error codes, show all the sensors and power test.

I should have made it a bit more clear...

 

I have a couple of consult adapters (& usb cables) and a few different types of software.

 

the consult is the free version and only has limited access but I have another one that is very powerful.

 

since I'm selling the Zed I no longer need them.. and so would be happy to sell them.. (the connectors that is, you can have the software).

Theres something similar on ebay which I was looking at starting at £300 apparently worth 2k is yours the same?

LOL.. no and don't waist your money... the good Consult software is much cheaper than that.

 

my connectors are only the £20 ones but work fine and the software (as I said before) was free... let me PM you some more info...
