Don't know if anyone can help with this. I've got an old server that's pretty big and got loads of stuff in it. It's an AT style case though and I'm trying to get some faster stuff in it.

Does anyone know of any AT style motherboards that will take something in the region of a 1GHz processor. I've tried e-Bay and there was one which I narrowly missed out on. Apart from that, I'm really struggling to find anything.

Cheers

A new case is only about £20-£50 squids and you can use the current ATX motherboards then so doubt if you'll find anything.

I haven't seen a new AT board for a couple of years.

This case cost £500 and has lots of room in it. Wouldn't want to lose it 'coz another case like it would cost a fortune.

The problem is your case is AT style that has a fixed power on button to the power supply, whilst the new ATX (current) style have software controlled power supplies ( a small lead is connected from the case to the motherbaord to switch it on).

Also the power supply connector to the motherboard is different from AT to ATX.

Also the wattage rating of new CPU's are alot higher than AT, used to be around 150-200 watts the latest today use 300 watt.

So summing all those factors its probably better to get a new server case/power supply - you could try and bodge it with a soldering iron and some connectors but messy... :D

You can pick up a full tower case/300+ watt supply from about £60+ i should think... it will have a min of 4to5 5 1/4's and 4+ 3 1/2 inch slots
