Ok Z has never revved over 5.5K revs. Recently wont start at all.

To check there was fuel pressure today i disconnected the fuel line after the filter and KAPOW! no fuel came out. I even turned the ignition on, no fuel came out. Even tried cranking...no fuel.

So anyone got a fuel pump for sale or could it be something else to do with the fuel system?

Thanks

Rob

 That's it!! I wondered what those big pumps were i drove past everyday on my way to work! ;)

How do i check to see if the pump is bad, across what terminals should i put 12V?

Ok, got the pump out and connected direct 12V to it (had to get it out to see which terminals to connect to) and it worked fine. Pumped the fuel which was inside it all over me!!

So what does that mean? Fuel pump controller? Ive looked for it before but never managed to find it!!?Can i ask where it is or is it something else?

Andy thanks for the ptu (especially as i didn't pay :p ) but obviously it made no difference.

Shall i send it back?

Thanks

Rob

fuel pump relay, located in the o/s of the drivers footwell, behind a trim panel (near fusebox)

Not sure wether the z has one, but if it has, then it could be the inertia switch ?

Dissconnect before the filter. It may be blocked, especially as the problem has got worse over time.

turns out the + connection is cack and yet its all enclosed in a plastic moulding so i think i need a whole new unit.

A touch annoying, why the have to make it so "unserviceable".

Seems the fuel pump controller is bad to, doing the test on it, it only gives 8v for the first 30 seconds after start up, not 12v. I assume that means 8v is the max it can give which means my WOT power at high revs is pants -hence my original problem....?
