Hi guys,

Most of us POP charger guys have problems with MAF's getting wet or have high humidity issues with rain.

I was wondering if this device would work:

Any other pictures or ideas you guys have got as it pisses me off if I have to take the car out in the wet, this is the filter I have, it's a Blitz SUS:

I also noticed those side scoops are possibly throwing rain at it from the sides?

I must be very lucky as I have driven in full, "build an Ark" weather :boat: and never had an issue with 2 apexi filters down in the weeds, but I bet that would work that K&N bag thing yes.

As long as the splash guard is in place you shouldnt have an issue, i would rather buy another filter as a spare at that price lol.

I use a cheap £15 ebay jobbie and never had an issue, looks similar to yours, so same principal design.

Thanks guys.

I am missing the bumper splash guard but can't find a decent picture of it... I gather this isn't the belly pan right at the front? As you could still see my filter in the top horizontal vent on the bumper when looking from the front even with that fitted?

The splash guard is part of the front bumper support bracket, the one that houses the fog lights, the ribbed looking thing in the pic you posted, you could also make one using half a plant pot, plastic of course and nearest size to the bottom of the cone filter.

One here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300ZX-Z32-PARTS-FRONT-BUMPER-STRENGTHENER-SUPPORT-BAR-/380888876396

Best getting a splash guard. Socks and other covers will surely disturb the amount of exposure/area that the filter surfaces are able to draw air in from. Best getting the right bit imho.

Good luck

I tried to angle mine down as far as i could, I even rolled up the spash guard to make sure the 2 Apexis were in the basking shark mouth bit, In a (clearly misguided) attempt to get an additional 1.76bhp of airflow. I have had no stumble or anything but may look to relocate them slightly

Ok, I've had a play.

Couldn't mount a pot on my blitz sus as there is no where to drill out a hole without messing it up.....

Not sure why but the car seems 25% quicker, I cleaned the maf with contact cleaner too, the thing just wants to rev really fast and flies right up to around top rev range.

No stumbling really and idle is sweet.

Hopefully this is the end of my wet maf syndrome.

Once again, some of the ideas on this site are fantastic.

I couldn't get a black pot, plus they all had holes in the bottom.

This was some sort of medium sized grow your own bulb thing that goes over the plants.

Second to last picture - I have pulled the plastic down now past the bottom of the cone as this would of caught the rain still, so front part is now completely covered :)

I'd still like a splash guard too when I get the money.

I was getting a wet filter as water was dripping through between the nose panel and bumper , made a little shield and it cured it .
