A thought just occured to me, i've been an MR2 driver on and off for 10 years now, and one thing i always liked was the auto gear stick, it just felt nice and snug in my hand. Now we've got the aesthetics out of the way, from the picture you can see it has the same selector arrangement, "manu" and "power" are the "hold" and "power" buttons, size wise i'm sure it could be moulded to fit the gap, so all i need now is someone who knows the mechanical arrangement of the selector and could one be used in place of the other,

So any one clever out there can advise me?

I fitted an entire R34 tiptronic shifter to mine. Was a combined attempt (with a grafted R34 cluster in a Z32 housing) to utilise the select-shift option. Took a LOT of time to get the right adjustment on the rod that goes to the Inhibitor switch to have proper gear selection. The select shift didn't work however :(

With a bit of mucking around, was able to swap the Z32 shifter knob for the R34. Feels much nicer. Will shorten the Z32 shaft at a later date, so as to have it virtually flush. Might be possible to do the same with the MR2.
