hi guys, most of the time my auto box changes gear with no issues, smooth and sweet. However, first to second almost gives me whip lash because of the vicious "clunk". Is this normal... (I hope not) can anything be done about it,

Cheers Rich

Not sure mate but have a check of the fluid. It should be nice and pinky coloured and not smell burnt. If it is a bit burn't or grungy then I would change the fluid.

Fluid is nice and pink, was the first thing I checked, thanks

You can try changing the fluids and cleaning the filter, but...il be honest it sounds like the beginning of the end.

Tps adjustment is crucial to get smooth change, a bad connection on the tps will also give intermittent good/bad changes.

Would that not effect all gear engagements though, rather than only the change from 1st to 2nd? My gut reaction would be that it's transitioning poorly due to internal damage, your more certified than me but that would be my logic.

Does it grab gears correctly? Or do you get it pause for half a second or over rev before finnally settling on the gear. Mine grad fly took longer and longer to engauge gears, until eventually the car wouldn't hold onto the gear as well, you hit boost and the revs went trough the roof but it wasn't transferred back.
