Well good couple of days getting the zed ready for paint, all welding and filling done.

Now sanding ready to for priming,i have used 1200 sandpaper on old paint to key primer to the paint is this right or do i wet and dry it as well?

I know between primer coats i have to wet and dry it using 1200 but do i do this before applying primer?

How many coats of primer do i give before top coats and how many top coats would you say i apply?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated:-)

Im no expert but if its 2k high build my bro in law went to 320 on a da before high build then I think he blocked primer with 400 to 800 and then paint but 2k paint im sure he said solid would cover about a 400 and metallic around a 500 so god knows why he went to 800

Maybe a 1200 is to smooth before primer but sure someone who knows better will come along soon...

Car is looking good by the way...

1200 on a high build filler primmer will be fine, then when painted super fine to flaten for a proper job. but you will need some ectch primmer on that bear metal or chanes r itll react. put the etch primmer on thinly and dry at first befor the next coat. to heavy it will react around the edges of the metal.

Ok will do how many coats should it have? Do I wet and dry on easy coat?

just flick on a couple coats of ecth and when you painting the rest of the high build primmer you can just just put a frist coat on light. a dusting be the time you got that done you can do a couple of wet on wet heavy coats dont rush and give yourself plenty of time ,it takes hours to paint a car ,good luck

2pkt solid colour like that will give you a good finish and a good colour to paint and hide any slight mistakes or slight errors in the prep. and a nice clour.

If using 2k High build, 320 is fine.

Three good coats of primer to block down with 800 Wet n dry.

If that is a solid colour it will cover 800 easy.
