As you can see from my previous thread ive tried various things to try and work out the problem

Someone mentioned limp mode. Could this be the cause? If so how do you get it out of limp? Tried ecu diagnostic comes up 55 clear.. the reason why im thinking this is that when Im im in drive it goes from 1st to 2nd while im in 2nd a fairly high revs u can feel the car hesitating to change but doesn't then if I put it into 2nd you can actually feel the engine-gearbox take the strain as such. So is my car in second or 3rd????

Genuine limp home mode via the ecu has 3rd gear only, easy to tell as the pull away off the line is painfully slow, but you can drive at motorway speeds without very high revs.

If someone has a ConZult close to you it will help massively, jack the back wheel ups off the floor (safely supported ) you can use drive and the gears manually and the ConZult shows whet the ecu is trying to do ie; select 3rd or not or even if any speed sense issues have a problem, also its possible to see the line pressure and valve body solenoid operations by activating different gears and watching what happens to the line pressure etc. its strange you had this issue only after changing the fluid?? when the strainer was refitted your sure (sorry to ask) the small o ring went back ok? having said that you have drive so unless 1 and 2 use less line pressure and the seal is compromised?? most boxes fail from the top gears downwards? what fluid did you use?

Try using the hold button, this effectively cancels first gear, so you will defo in second when pulling away, you then will have a clearer idea if it is changing to third or not.
