any one running k sport brake kit ? and and can review it ? from what i can see d2 are the same so who really makes them ?

Featured Replies

I have had 23 miles of them working perfectly

They came beautifully packaged, everything I needed. Fairly straight forward fitment other than needing to tin snip the dust plate and file 3 mm off the hub. Seem really good quality and they are already starting to really bite hard, but I am breaking them in carefully as I should. Automodz got mine at a better price than anywhere I found online.

nice have you done front and rear or just front ?. I see the d2 ones are a little more money and come with the 6 pot and the k sport with the 8 pot from what I seen on the d2 web site there 8 pot needs a 19 inch wheel . am sure you have looked into all this so do tell us more

On initial order front and back were gonna take 12 weeks to be built up and sent out, then someone cancelled an order an I got the fronts early. The backs will be 9 weeks or so now.

I ordered 356mm 8 fronts and 330 4 pot rears. With default pads, despite the poor reviews for the standard pads because I bet theyre totally fine. The rears use the standard drums.

On the D2 site it lists floating and fixed and all sorts but according to Mark Derby these aren't all availiable in the uk you only get to choose size as you do with K sport. They are exactly the same you pay for the D2 name.

I think you can get whatever colour you want looking at the glossy that came in the box.

I have 18 inch Rota GTRs

I see. so if you wanted to change the pads and discs in the future do you have to buy them from k sport? like are thay made just for that calliper?

I know there are various ones that can be used but don't know the ins and outs of it. They are quite expensive and you only buy the rotor (the silver bit round the edge)

keep us updated then on how thay feel when you have had more time with them

sounds good so when you went to get new pads how did you order em as you ones for the 300zx would not be the same so did you just need a part number

They're probably bedded in now, 150 miles of country roads, they're powerful, brake straight, and the pedal is fairly firm. I now have about 15mm of pedal that's like 2 clicks of handbrake, then it goes very hard over about 3mm and gives me a feeling of unlimited braking, but I haven't leant on them yet, that bit where they start to bite moves your head forward.

I think the slight slack is my not yet adjusted master brace and standard rears. The pedal will be like standing on a brick when I am finished.

how are the k sport brakes holding up dude ?

The car has been at Mark Derby's place for a couple of weeks, it will be back early June :-(

They started off pretty good a bit spongey then got better and better, I bedded them in in about 350 miles rather than 500, because I could do 500 miles on the motorway and not use them at all. All my miles were country roads and I was careful, trailed the brakes lightly cruising in 5th, did sympathetic stops from speed with pulsed braking all sorts. Some other brake manufacturers say "put them on and do 10 emergency stops from 60mph, brakes bedded in!" So I mixed it up trying not to overheat them.

Once they were, they were everything you would imagine these to be, firm and a 'little bit' bitey. They bloody work though, I did at least 10 miles at full on "race pace" and the speed you can travel from A-B... braking late and hard and rolling off them towards the apex is awesome. I didn't know what I was missing till I fitted them!

I am looking forward to the rears arriving.
