For some reason i have got a set of 6.5" wheels all round my jap import. It does make it quite fun to drive, but a bit dangerous some times. Have got 205's fitted at mo but need to replace very soon. Will larger width tyres fit on or do i have to stick with this size. (Can't afford to buy larger wheels - due to upgrading shocks and intercoolers)

Should be 225 fronts and 245 rears for std JSpec

Surely 225s all round? (for J-spec, that is)

They should be 225's all round, but on 7.5j's, but i have different wheels.(off an old Skyline I think)

Mines a jap spec and came with 225 on 8.5 rims all round.

I don't think you can go much larger on a 6.5 inch rim if at all!!

As i understand it the standard 300 wheels only come in 7.5 or 8.5 inch sizes!!!!! Are yours standard?

Paul c has a set of standard wheels for sale for 125 with tyres. May help you out!!!!!

Actually, Standard Japanese wheels are;

7.5J front (so 225 tyres)

7.5J rear (225 tyres)

Standard UK/European/US are;

7.5J front (225 tyres)

8.5J rear (245 tyres)

And he has 6.5J! So they must be aftermarket wheels.. So I'd guess 205 or 215's on them.. Dont' fancy wheels that skinny myself...

I don't particularly want them that skinny but they look better than stock ones so will stick with them until next time - then 18's.

You a brave man!!!!!!

Ive got 8.5" standard wheels on my Jap import.

running 225/50,s.

got to change soon,

should I go for 245/45 allround or stick to 225 f 245 r

8.5" jap wheels or 8.5" (UK) standard rims on a jap?

If its a stnadard UK set of wheels then it is 225/50 on the front and 245/45 on the rear.

Japimport, so I presume wheels jap.

They are the standard 300 alloy wheels profile.

I know most of you recommend Toyo Proxies but anybody know anything about BF goodrich on Zed.

I have Dunlop Sport 200 at the moment which are pretty good for grip and wear.

Ours has Dunlop SP sport 2000 tyres on atm, they are infinatly better than the Yokohama ADVAN tyres that were on it before, these ones actually grip the road ;)

IIRC MAC 1 has BFGoodrich, or one of the bunch with wide arses ;)

Apparently Toyo's are good.

If you have standard Jap spec wheels then you will want 225/50R16 all round

But jap spec wheels are normally 7.5ins wide mine are 8.5 ins. so I could put 245 on rear? or both front and rear if thats any advantage in the grip stakes.

Got a price for BF goodrich 225 50 - £80

.................. 245 45 - £95

Dunlop Sport about +£20

well, 8.5" ones take 245/45 tyres. So if you deffinatly have 8'5" all round then yes, 245/45 would be right.
