Hi since changing the gearbox oil and cleaning all the connections by the ecu my zed wont shift out of 2nd gear ....... new gear box? :(

Depends really, have you done the gearbox diagnostic check yet?

No. I tried before couldn't work out how to do it

Hi, ive no AT light , so I removed the dash part and checked the bulb with another ( working bulb) and still does not come on. ;(

I have also searched this forum and apparently on import autos the power light is the one used for the diagnostics according to a thread on here ive tried for at least an hour now and cant get any codes power light just stays blank after ut coming on briefly for 2 seconds im wondering if its anything ive done last week I might have disturbed? All I done was drop the sump clean it and put new atf in

Actually would low fluid level cause this problem? Ive not checked the level since the drain a refill as ive hardly used the car

Check the level,

You need the engine running and run the selector through the the gears........

Ok, so I checked the level today and it seemed a little low, so I grabbed a mate and got him to shift through the gears while I topped her up while engine running. test drove it and still the same ;(. tried again to do the diagnostic and still no light. as I mentioned on my earlier post I cleaned all the ECU and Gearbox ECU connections with WD40 electrical contact cleaner, so just to be sure I went over it again and I have left all unplugged till the morning just to be sure they dry ok.

 

I cant see what the problem can be, after the gear box oil change I noticed the car's shifting was a lot smoother than before and it did go through all the gears, so how can it suddenly just stop going past 2nd gear? im praying my gearbox hasn't had it! I think I recall JeffTT saying that my zed had a gearbox change or reconditioned one a few years back.

When you start the car, does your power light flash?

yep comes on for about 2 seconds then goes out.

Have you tried charging your battery, or even making sure the connections are tight on the terminals?

I know it sounds strange but my Zed wasn't shifting right at one point, so I did the diagnostic, which came back clear. I then spoke to jeff who said a low battery could also cause this problem, checked and the battery had plenty of grunt but the terminals were loose. Tightened them up and problem solved :thumbup:

Checked battery terminals there fine also checked the ASCD fuse and thats fine. I can actually feel the car hesitating to change to 3rd but just doesn't. I did an ecu diagnostic and came back with 34 which is the det sensor is this relevant?

Code 34 is the det sensor which could send your engine into limp mode and possibly gearbox too, give Jeff a bell, im sure he could shed some light on the issue.

Ok so ive found the det sensor problem on one of the plugs one of the wires was hanging on by a single wire . No longer getting ecu 34 error topped up ATF oil still no different grrrrrr

Right jeff kindly sent me a gearbox ecu to try out car still wont shift from 2nd gear any other options I wonder

Get the car to jeff so he can either solve the issue or diagnose that a new gearbox is needed.

That would be great but I live 100's of miles away so id have to have it towed there. One thing though dunno if its anything to do with my problem but where the gear selector is along the gear icons although its in park the red indicator is on 2nd still is that normal?

Have you tried to change gear manually while driving the car?

Hi yes ive gone down to 1st then up to 2nd then into drive changes smoothly but no third :(

Have you tried switching the power button, I think it has three settings,

Ive pressed the power button and I dont really notice any difference
