Aren't independent specialist generally better in terms of knowledge of the cars and have less overheads/lower charges and more reasons to keep you happy ?

Possibly because some people happen to live near a main dealer who *actually* knows his stuff, and is obliging and helpful..

Yes they do exist.. Just not many of them :)

And sometimes convienience, trust and downright helpfulness are far more important than money..

ditto ditto

Hey, Aaron - have you ever used that one round the back of the station? That's where mine goes (mostly).

Not with the Z Gio..

(Rather embarassingly) I used to own a Bluebird (1.8GS Auto) that had a habit of stalling when it was warming up and you stopped at a junction (in drive), so I took it there to see if they could cure it..

They had it for a day, said they couldn't get it to go wrong.. Guess what, when I got to the roundabout on the way home, it stalled...

The car was a bit of a minger though, paid £2400 for it, got £500 for it 6 months later - it was well sh@fted.. Still paying for that bl00dy car now!!

Good to know they work on Z's though..

I've seen quite a few there - both import and UK. When there was that little spat with NMGB over parts prices, they said they would be more than happy to fit parts I supplied.

They look after a blue one, a modded black one and some others I don't remember.

Apart from the not-very-well-modded red one (round rear lights through the aid of sticky-backed-plastic - yuk) which someone tried to drive through a flood and filled the engine half full of water.

I'd be interested to hear of any other good local Mandela/non-Mandela just in case... (There's a bloke in Datchet who says he looks after 2 or 3 Zeds - Lucas Garage. Any knowledge?)

Some of them know what they are talking about because they have been wokring on the Z32 and other Z's since the day they were started being imported into the UK, they do a good job and offer a warranty on their work and stand by it.

Also the flourescent green Micra I have at the moment whilst the gearbox is being fixed under warranty is really cool and has a cheerful air about it. La La La La Micras and squirrels are Gods creatures too, GIO help me man, my Karma is off on one again.

Quick nurse, the screens - and warm up the emergency teapot :)

I think I've seen that black one about once before.. Rarely see others around though - sometimes see a yellow TT, and once saw a modded grey TT, but that's been about it..

I haven't used any garages around here for the Z I'm afraid - I've done all the work on it myself so far, mainly because I don't trust garages (too many bad experiences!).. And the only specialist that I know of and trusted was a Renault one :) So that's not much help (even if they do have a 51% stake in Nissan)..

Had my window repaired this afternoon and he only charged Mrs T for a half hours labour.

Let them do the awkward stuff you don't want to take on like electric window jobbies etc.

Just don't let them near the front of the vehicle where the warp drive is housed! ;)

While the nurse is around, can you get her to bring a straight jacket for Timmy?

And Timmy mate - I take it SE replaced your fuel injection with a matter-antimatter injection system then? Very hi-tech indeed :D

Madman..
