I love Lancaster Classic Car Insurance!!!!!

I just received a call back from them in regards to insuring both our Zed's the LWB and SWB.

My LWB has had to go to the underwriters as I have declared all mods, but the guy thinks it will not be much more than the SWB, but the shorty at the moment is standard but for it's wheels, and I got it on a classic policy with 3000 mile limit (more than enough) agreed valuation of £5,500 for the grand sum of £150.10!!! Brilliant, well happy. So give Lancaster a try when renewing your policies.

Be intersted to see the nice cars with the agreed value. To see what year and model and condition got what. And if what we asked or got somthing else. To show the true value of what these cars, and what .the market market value should be and reflect.

I always thought about classic policies when my car is old enough but my problem would be losing my NcB is I ever needed it agai. Not the classic policies fault but because they wouldn't take it in to account or use it, then I'd lose it after 1 or 2 years (depending on the new insurer).

I'm also iffy on the number of miles I'd want to do.

My other worry as I don't know the answer is whether or not they would actually replace the mods etc or whether they'd just replace/pay out the value or the standard car.

Surley thats the idea of it being agreed value. So if i have an accident then they replace the parts for example.my wheels are valude at 1.5 k to relace if they cant find replacement then they should replace with near.the same or give you a cheque to.

300zx 666, can you list the modifications on your car please,

cheers Paul

Sure can buddy.

Full Mongoose stainless steel exhaust

Full Impul body kit (Bumpers and side skirts with door fills)

Navan rear spoiler

Full leather interior (not too sure if this is a mod but thought I would mention it) But as they are red in colour they would get to know they aren't stock.

My engine has been rebuilt with nice shiny bits with full lightweight pulley set. (thank you Mr. Lee Dent).

Gauges in the car (Water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, volt meter, air fuel gauges)

Xenon headlights

Alloy wheels (bigger than stock)

Illuminated rear centre panel

99 spec rear lights

Double din car stereo/sat nav/Android unit

Think that about covers things....lol

I declared all of this and have asked for a £7,000 agreed value policy, just have to send photo's in to them once I get all the paperwork through.

Cheers

Ian

Mods are more like bodykit, wheels and performance enhancements that were not on the car as stock, other little bits you decide to add are not really mods in their eyes as some cars stock have leather or cloth interior, however at least being honest you are less likely to have an issue should a claim arise.

I listed my mods to the insurer as you did and they didnt even add them to my policy  whether they were not considered greatly altered from stock or didnt bother lol

I thought that too bud, but as I have mentioned everything they shouldn't have too much of an argument if I do ever have to make a claim.

Will be including a lot of photo's for them to see. All the work has been carried out by Lee Dent, a brilliant Zed specialist, so they will be told that too.
