I have a set of standard turbos in my garage, and just wanted to know what can be done to them to make them go faster and protect them more?

Nothing really. Turbos work mostly on their size. Smaller turbos that try to create the same pressure as larger ones have to spin quicker and end up shattering themselves to bits.

I've got a second hand set and was thinking about sending them up to Turbo Technics but they said they wouldn't do much with second handers! Bummer! Only paid 150 squids for them.

Sling them out,get a pair of Hybrids;)

There is loads you can do.

Fit bigger impellors,

modify exhaust housing.

ect..

JWT up to sport 550 turbos are stock turbos essentially.

Some of the HKS turbos use stock intake housings that have been machined out.

When people get bigger turbos on these cars, they are not that much bigger to be honest.

as you dont need a huge blower to make a big difference.

Seeing as Mrs Big is a hairdresser, shes got some wicked new hairdryers, can these be used as hybrids, after all there bloody good huge blowers and u can change the heat from hot to cold, excellent for a cooler charge temperature!!
