Got a Sony DVD player with surround sound etc. Can i unlock it or do something so it will read VCD`s?

Got a shed load coming and can only watch them in the car or cheap and nasty one in the bedroom (could come in handy with some of them!!)

Answers on a postcard please boys and girls.

tried a VCD earlier, came up "no disc", tried it on the pioneer in the car and works ok. I`ll probably get a portable one and hide it somewhere and use the AV input on the Sony one as it`s got the 5.1 surround all built in.

Ta for the feed back

Bugger -

Posted this on the wrong thread - feckin eejit.

Please see thread on Knight Rider. Doh!

Sorry Guys.

Bob,

Is the one you're trying to play a VCD on a CDR ? My car player will play VCDs but only 'official' ones. If I create them with my CD writer then they won't play. Which is a right pain.

It might be that your player is OK with the VCD format but not with the way it was burnt onto the CD.

Does your PS2 play them ? I was thinking that may be a way to play them in the car.

Yeah they are CDR`s but having looked at the spec of the sony won`t play them anyway.

Got PS2 and DVD in the car and that one works so might take it out and plug it in the home one.

Cheers.
