There is a big car show coming up this easter at Weston Park

 

This event is organised by Transtar Promotions, the same as the Trentham and Shugborough shows we attended last year

 

Both Trentham and Shugborough were great days out, with a good showing of Zeds, and we certainloy caused a lot of interest

 

Weston Park is situated between Telford and Cannock on the A5 (not far from M6 J12) and is the largest event organised by Transtar - 1500+ cars 18,000+ visitors!

Event Description: Regulars need no introduction to the No. 1 Easter Event in the UK, now in it's twenty seventh year for this popular and super show which features over 1500 vehicles, 18,000 visitors, large autojumble and tradestand area. Funfair, Simulators and Inflatables plus in the main Arena Act tba plus Piston Rings Junior Motorcycle Display Team.

I thought it would be great if we could have a Z presence at this show. The show is over two days (easter sunday/monday) however exhibitors can choose to show their cars on either days or both

 

The cost is £3.50 per car per day and that includes admission for up to 2 adults and 2 kids aged under 15

 

Anyone wishing to camp on the sunday night can do so free of charge.

 

If you want to make a long weekend of it you can arrive on the Friday and pay £10 per camping unit for the two nights or arrive saturday and pay £5 for the one night (plus remember sunday night is free)

 

There is a lot to do for anyone making a weekend of it - aside from the stately home itself http://www.weston-park.com/ there are many nearby attractions including:

Now the situation as it stands is that I can only make the show on the Monday, but I do want to attend

and in fact I'm a bit annoyed I can't make a whole weekend of it myself !

 

We only need six cars on each day to attend (but it would be nice to see a lot more!), if there is enough nterest just for one of the days then we will only attend that day.

 

I am sure I can rope in some volunteer to organise things on the Sunday in my absence :cool3:

 

This could be our first big event of the year and sounds like a good time to get the Zed out ready for the summer season.

 

I have the application forms in my hands right now - but really need to get these sent in by the beginning of March so we have two weeks to get some names on the list

 

So what'ya think? Yeah... it's time to get a list started :thumbup1:

Rich has given me all the passes for the show just in case his car isnt ready for sunday, (im sure it will be rich ). So the intended 1st meeting place is Sandbach Serivices SUNDAY 8.20am leaving at 8.45 prompt.

Can those meeting at the services put their names into this post so i know how many to expect at the services ad who we have to meet with at the show gates for their passes please.

 

Looking forward to a great show, lets hope the weather is good, I have the new regional windsail banner too so we can show off with the best of them.

Remember to take some pictures of the new Banner and we can send them to Alien Graphics for there Gallery. Then we can get 10% of our next order which we have sitting ready to go.

Just got back from the Weston Park show, thanks to all that made it it was nice to see you all again. We had loads of interest in our cars lots of people took pictures and the club banners helped us to identify ourselves.

I handed a couple of cards out to prospective new forum members, a lovely young lady with a white uk manual tt who had never heard of us so watch out for her in the newbie section soon. The weather wasnt the best but the rain stayed away long enough to make it a good day. Anyway more photos to follow when ive downloaded them of my slr.

Nice to see you all me the wife and kids had a great day

 

We even got to teach Keith what detailing spray was, once he had the bottle in his hand i couldnt get it back off him.

We also did a comparison test between simoniz new detail spray and the orchard product supplied by our very own Nezzie of Dirty Jocks. The orchard product won hands down as it went on and off quickly , streak free and a great shine.

Only got a couple of pics as the camera battery decided to die a death today.

Looking forward to the next show? The banners where good, Ian anchored his under the wheel, but I just stuck the other one next to Sayers car and there was no problem with the wind we had. Thanks Ian for the detailing spray, but I still had to wash it when I got home.
