There is a big car show coming up this easter at Weston Park

 

This event is organised by Transtar Promotions, the same as the Trentham and Shugborough shows we attended last year

 

Both Trentham and Shugborough were great days out, with a good showing of Zeds, and we certainloy caused a lot of interest

 

Weston Park is situated between Telford and Cannock on the A5 (not far from M6 J12) and is the largest event organised by Transtar - 1500+ cars 18,000+ visitors!

Event Description: Regulars need no introduction to the No. 1 Easter Event in the UK, now in it's twenty seventh year for this popular and super show which features over 1500 vehicles, 18,000 visitors, large autojumble and tradestand area. Funfair, Simulators and Inflatables plus in the main Arena Act tba plus Piston Rings Junior Motorcycle Display Team.

I thought it would be great if we could have a Z presence at this show. The show is over two days (easter sunday/monday) however exhibitors can choose to show their cars on either days or both

 

The cost is £3.50 per car per day and that includes admission for up to 2 adults and 2 kids aged under 15

 

Anyone wishing to camp on the sunday night can do so free of charge.

 

If you want to make a long weekend of it you can arrive on the Friday and pay £10 per camping unit for the two nights or arrive saturday and pay £5 for the one night (plus remember sunday night is free)

 

There is a lot to do for anyone making a weekend of it - aside from the stately home itself http://www.weston-park.com/ there are many nearby attractions including:

Now the situation as it stands is that I can only make the show on the Monday, but I do want to attend

and in fact I'm a bit annoyed I can't make a whole weekend of it myself !

 

We only need six cars on each day to attend (but it would be nice to see a lot more!), if there is enough nterest just for one of the days then we will only attend that day.

 

I am sure I can rope in some volunteer to organise things on the Sunday in my absence :cool3:

 

This could be our first big event of the year and sounds like a good time to get the Zed out ready for the summer season.

 

I have the application forms in my hands right now - but really need to get these sent in by the beginning of March so we have two weeks to get some names on the list

 

So what'ya think? Yeah... it's time to get a list started :thumbup1:

OK guys

We have nine on the list for Sunday (including a couple of maybe's) so I am gonna stick my neck out here and order 10 passes today, for the Sunday

 

We need at least four more if we are going to attend Easter Monday as well (the only day I can attend)

 

So if anyone else wants to come on the Monday then please put your name down and I will order the passes in a couple of weeks. If any more want to attend on the sunday I will order some more sunday passes at that time, if there are still any available

OK I paid for ten Sunday passes today

 

Once I know we have got them, I will be asking for paypal payments from those on the list

 

There may be a few of these passes spare as I accounted for the maybe's and proabably's when I ordered them plus added one extra

 

So if you want one of these sunday passes and are not on the list do add your name here asap

Hi

Just to confirm I have ten passes for the Weston Park show on the Sunday. I made payment for them myself so will be asking attendees to pay £3.50 by paypal or pay on the day.

 

As there are a couple of 'maybe's' on the list [300zx 666 (sunday probably) acraig (sunday maybe)] That means we have seven passes spoken for right now

 

It looks likely now that I will be able to make the Sunday myself, so there are potentially a couple of spare passes available. I will have the passes a couple of weeks before the event, but have confirmed with the organisers that payment was received and the passes allocated

 

An interesting fact came out during my discussion with the organisers

 

The Sunday passes are also valid for Monday (no extra cost!) and as we have a club stand they are also transferable between members vehicles - this means that anyone wanting to attend on the Monday can do so for free as we will have a load of passes spare from the Sunday as things stand. If we have enough interest I could attend both days to redistribute any passes as needed

 

So if you want to come along on the Monday - for free - then let me know. If you want to attend Sunday and are not currently on the list let me kmow ASAP as individual car entries are now closed and additional Sunday club passes will only be available for a very short period

I can now attend both days myself and am very confident I will have my car back :cool3:

 

There are two unconfirmed for the Sunday (300zx_666 and acraig) - so Ian, Adam; can you please confirm ASAP as if you both come we are one pass short and I need to get some more very quickly

 

Also 'dzx' : Darren you said you would like to come to this event (on the west midlands meets section) could you please confirm as I am unable to PM you

 

 

Anyone else want to come to this? - It should be a very good show with a huge public attendance and we already have a decent turnout for the Sunday so we could make this the first big meet of the year with a few more names on the list :thumbup1:

Whats the earliest we can arrive Rich?

Interestingly enough there is no mention of how early we can arrive - exhibitors can camp over from the night before or even from good friday (£10 for two nights, £5 for sat night) so I would say we can arrive from 'any time we like' really. Also anyone wanting to exhibit Sunday/Monday can camp for free

 

We must be all set up by 11am

 

As most of us are heading south I was going to propose we meet at Sandbach Services (just south of M6 J17) at 8.20 for those wanting some breakfast (they have a few options including a MacBreakfast, then leave there at 8.45am prompt as it is about 35 mins down to Weston Park. There will inevitably be a queue to get in but we should be on our stand 10am. We now have regional club banners to put up as well so we will want a little time to organise ourselves properly and put on a nice display

 

Anyone heading direct for the venue you need to be on site by 11am at the very latest (and make sure to allow at least 30mins to queue), but if you come that late the best spots on the stand will no doubt already be taken :tt2:

Rich has given me all the passes for the show just in case his car isnt ready for sunday, (im sure it will be rich ). So the intended 1st meeting place is Sandbach Serivices SUNDAY 8.20am leaving at 8.45 prompt.

Can those meeting at the services put their names into this post so i know how many to expect at the services ad who we have to meet with at the show gates for their passes please.

 

Looking forward to a great show, lets hope the weather is good, I have the new regional windsail banner too so we can show off with the best of them.
