laptop: ASUS PS: windows vista business

Whilst typing e-mail or here get slow key beep sounds and a pop box suggesting this device can perform better (usb) ??? no usb stick in and if I type a long email or post I get blue screen of death and a message bugcode_usb_driver Goggle suggests the usb driver issue but all usb ports working fine, tried a reset to previous time and still the same.

Tries microsoft fix it download, reported after problem fixed, but still the same.

Only thing I can think of is last week updated ADOBE READER X as I could not open a pdf file, is that a possible conflict but device manager reports no issues, is it worth uninstalling adobe?

Hi, it's worth a try, you could also try and update or re-install the USB drivers, somehow they might have got corrupted.

computers are the devil in physical form.. :)

Does the laptop have a built in camera?

Nearly all laptops with inbuilt cameras are usb just they connect internally.

Possibly it's got a faulty cable.

Also new Windows updates could have installed that notification and the camera itself runs on older usb 1.1

Other built in usb devices are memory card readers.

Yes it does have a built in camera, the thing i,s it only has an issue when you start typing in anywhere, once the pop up box comes up about the usb it stops making the beeps, just noticed I now have Realtek USB card reader software showing as installed in my programmes, cannot say for sure but don`t remember that been there before the Adobe download......any connection?? might uninstall both.

Oh update, just checked and the Realtek card reader prog is 3 years old but McAfee secuity scan came with the ADOBE download and is running??

McAfee removed but still the same! Adobe removed and still the same so that theory gone!

hi jeff first of all worst operating system out there secondly sounds to me you may have a Trojan/ virus or even malware/spyware can u not do a system restore to the last known correct working settings eg before u dowloaded adobe

its worth a try i know its an arse but may work see youve already tried a system restore so only leaves some sort of bug or other

The noise you hear is the usb device connecting and disconnecting !

My first suggestion would be the video camera then possibly the flash cards.

Try use the camera with Skype and slowly open and close the screen see if the picture cuts out.

Its more than likely a loose connection or short with whatever device that's connected internally.

Keyboards were also USB. As it happens when typing, I would suggest the connector may be loose/damaged inside

Slight update with a picture, still got same issue found nothing yet, but working around by typing slower!!

Had a look in device manager again and checked the USB listing under the serial bus one port is showing as mass storage device however the word storage is spelt wrong ( see picture) cannot see that can be right, I disabled it and there seem to be a change, the key touch bleeps are less..... however after a reboot back to the same noise which I have now worked out is only when using a space between words, without spacing you can write as much as you want, also its possible the beep is warning of a hard ware issue ( Google ) is this likely?

Bit more info the warning when opened mentiones the usb composite device can perform faster if unplugged into a high speed port, does this mean a usb port or an internal device as suggested, keyboard or camera? issue
