Hi Guys, just thought you two would want to see the photo below as my appreciation of the effort to get it there has not diminished with time. So do you notice any differences since you saw it last...

However, I do have one or two questions.....

Ok, appreciation over, now some questions open to all experts...

I have finally got my Zed back on the road after a gearbox replacement and general "put back together" day last year. The reason for the transplant was a broken Auto gearbox, so when i drove it, it the Engine Management system only allowed 1st and 2nd gear, When i took it out, low and behold the box would only use 1st and 2nd. i am assuming that the EM system has no idea of the swap so still holds it back. If by some miracle i'm right, how do i tell it to pull its socks up and get with the programme.

Another question, when i press the overdrive? button, a light illuminates on the RH set of warning lamps called "MISSION OIL" (i think it means transmission oil) has a wire gone astray? have i somehow got a rogue dash unit.

Thats it for now

ps, God it was sooooooooooooo.. good to get behind the wheel of a Zed again.

Er , could the autobox ECU be at fault , or a fuse blown , i believe others have had this issue and it has prevented the auto box functioning correctly. Tell me the ECU was checked last time , What codes are been thrown up at the moment ?

How is the fluid level in the box?

Also, a bit of a long shot I know, but it may be something as simple as a clogged filter within the box itself.

Neil, re our phone call i'll get back to you..

Redwine, hi. Fluid Level is good, As for a clogged filter... well if you tell me how to find out, i'll tell you....

Im going to look at fuses of gearbox ecu and any fuses that have blown, Also i'll dig out how to get the diagnose codes and see what they say, If it does turn out to be one of these, then its possible the original box was okay...whoops...

This link may be of help with regards to error codes.

In the mean time I will try and find a "how to" with regards to filter change.

I think it is a matter of dropping the oil pan but will check.
