So I've had cctv on my house for a while now but lately i'm thinking of changing it all and going digital.

 

At the moment I've just got one 600tvl night vision dome with a dvr unit that records on motion which gives this sort of picture :

Quality wise its no better than an old tv at pal sort of resolutions.

 

The plan it to get two of these babies :

They are 1.3 MP IR cameras that power and hook up via cat5 cable and rather than using a dvr i'll record directly onto my pc

using the free software that hikvision provide which is rather cool.

 

The cameras are about £130 each but the quality should be great and its protecting my investment covering my zed below.

Yep, I've go the same but a little cheaper . I can view mine on my mobile and can also use it as an intercom , it has a little speaker attached ,It also emails me a video clip if the pir has been activated! really good investment ;)
