Guy's

I desperately need to power up some tools and lighting in my garage and can lay my hands on a 3.3kw generator for £50, question is will this be sufficient to also power a small mig welder and a small compressor, obviously not all at the same time?

I've looked on the net and some say yes and others no; hopefully someone will know more than me about generator, it's not hard, I know fook all!!

Any advice appreciated, especially of those that are using a portable generator.

Cheers.

Well as long as nothing you're running pulls more than about 13 amps, then yes - just !

Make sure your mig is generator friendly...its going to be flat out running either of those items too.

Hmmmm, maybe I'd best hold out for something a little bigger then, bugger! Thought at that price it would be worth getting, but no point buying it if I have to upgrade in the future.

Cheers Andy.
