Well aside from some water getting in to the car (no surprise in this weather, just adjusted the windows, hope it helps), the heater matrix needing replacing (Brrrr), an exhaust leak and knocking exhaust (didn't have time to get under and inspect) and the ever increasing amount of rust bubbles popping up everywhere.....

It seems the locking system is going to give me right headache.

When I unlock the car the passengers door lock keeps locking and unlocking, I can hear a clicking from inside the drivers door.

If I push the lock on the drivers door to lock, it stops, if i push the lock to unlock on the passengers door it stops.

If i disconnect the passengers door it still makes a clicking in the drivers door.

So took the door card off, took part of the assembly out but the actuator/switch that is causing the problem is attached to the bottom of the door catch mechanism.

I just din't have enough time to pull it all part and check it out, lots of cables, tie rods and clips.

I haven't have a good look in the FSM but would like any advice people can offer on fixing this.

I was going to post in the wanted selection for a replacement but really need to check out the FSM first for its name image and location diagram.

cheers.

It's the actuator in the drivers door not working correctly. It's not fully pushing and pulling the CDL switch for the passenger door

Oops you just said that! I can supply you a new quality actuator.

Firstly, this will sound daft, but carefully remove the rods and clips and polish all the rods up with some wire wool...... they get corrosion on them and stick as they get older....

Replace the rods and clips and use some grease on all the clips that the rods slide through.....

The other thing is to check the lock and unlock cable isn't sticking inside the sheathing.... I cleaned mine and wd40'd it to make it run smoothly.....

It could just be a rod or clip sticking causing the actuator to bounce.....

mine did this a few years ago and stupidly I threw away all the mechanism and went for remote locking only...... silly thing to do since the car has been without a battery and unlocked on my driveway for 6 years now.........lol

It's locked now in case any tea leaves are reading this......lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!
