Done Dan and by the way you are unlikely to get a joint insurance involving a commercial vehicle, i know its only car based, but it is considered a van and therefore is a commercial vehicle and not likely to be able to use your no claims on both.

I had this problem years ago when i used to lease vans, had to have a separate fully comp insurance and paid a fortune for the privilege:thumbdown:

Any pics of interior yet? no hurry as im off on holiday next week, but just when you get the chance :thumbup1:

i havent had a chance 2sort garage out yet i'l hopefully get it done on a dry day this week, i should of looked into this before i commited myself to the van but one way or another i'm going to need the van so i suppose i'l just have to take what the fraud squads aka insurance companies throw at me

If you are using your van as a daily then you will be able to insure your Zed on a classic policy which doesn't require you to use any NCB discount. I did this with Heritage when I had my Zed. Also the same situation with my mr2. Van insured as a daily and mr2 on classic, this was with Performance Direct. HTH. Both cars were however insured on a 3000 mile per annum limit.

Hi,

Please feel free to give us a try if you like. We have schemes that can do multiple cars and vans on one policy.

Regards,

Dan.

having problems with adrian flux, i had a non fault claim last year on my nissan and sky cant send my no claims bonus cert out until claim has being settled so i cant send docs to adrian flux until i have received. flux have contacted sky and they know the situation but are demanding another £400 from myself which is double what i have already payed when i had told them the situation upon setting the insurance. they are threatening to cancel policy and charge me for doing so. i know adrian flux are a forum trader but why do all insurance companies grab people by the balls and exploit every situation. i will be inboxing this to dan who advised myself to get in touch with adrian flux and hopefully he can have a look at whats going on and resolve the situation for myself

All insurance companies are basically legalized thieves mate!

No matter how honest you are they will wriggle and squirm their way out of any situation when you need them!

Hi all. With regards to the above situation....

Unfortunately, it is a legal issue. If you have set up a policy based on having a certain amount of No Claims Bonus, but then the old Insurers do not provide proof of this,...The new insurers (no matter who they are) cannot legally add the Bonus onto the file and therefore cannot keep the same price on the policy. This will usually mean an increase in the premium as the Insurers cannot give the discount on the premium.

If the claim is then settled off 100% non-fault the No Claims will be released and the price with the new Insurer will go back down. You would then get a refund for any additional premium you had paid.

This is why it is vitally important to make sure the old Insurers tell you how much No Claims Bonus they will be releasing you before you obtain any other quotes....as this will prevent any situations like this arising.

I hope the above helps. I have PM'd to the above problem to go into a few more details.

Many thanks,

Dan

I had the same thing. As Dan mentions above, unsettled claim at renewal time, doubled premium, claim subsequently settled a few months later, NCD reinstated and additional premium refunded. Inconvenient and frustrating but thats how it works. Good luck with yours.
