Had the car remapped last year by Nos, but its still kicking crap loads of black smoke when you stick your foot down and so obviously over fueling still, but i have one 02 sensor thats working and the other that isnt, so was wondering if anyone has used these o2 sensors?

and how good they work, although they are cheap so might just get some and see, cant be worse than what ive got at the present moment in time lol

Mine does too Ian, but i run with no O2 sensors, i would look at your injectors, as i had one registering too high in ohms so was overfuelling.

in fairness it should of been sorted when it was mapped last year bud, and im sure nos would of picked up on injectors if that was the case while mapping it on the dyno???

just to clarify, the black smoke on foot down is a lot better than it was before the remap, its just that its still doing it, you can also smell its overfueling, im hoping replacing the O2's will at least manage that final bit of overfueling from the ECU side of things.

Normally disconnecting the O2 sensors will operate at a mean setting by the ecu, but if its been mapped to include them i guess you need to replace to eliminate at least, Noz would be your best bet in answering that one mate.

02 sensors will not be causing black smoke as you mention most zeds have one or both sensors failed or disconnected without any issues, interestingly whilst passing through Milton Keynes saw saw Rusty Sills zed in the distance ( did not catch up) that was black smoking when he gunned it, this was shortly after Noz had mapped it, maybe a similar issue worth asking Noz or Rusty sills if his black smoke has stopped now, this is just just an observation not a go at Noz.

Mine was really bad before i took it too Noz, was over fulling horribly, the remap sorted that out to a degree, but hasn't completely eliminated it on hard acceleration. i have my MOT on the 5th of feb, so was hoping to figure out what was going on, what Ohms are the injectors supposed to be at? i have nizmo 555's by the way.

IIRC all injectors are between 10-14 ohms, anything outside is duff, under or overfuelling.

Also to add, it may only be the spades on the injectors that need a good clean, i used some dielectric grease on all my terminals when i fitted the engine nearly 2 years ago and nearly all still ended up with green shit and corrosion on, go figure lol.

Ill check the connections but its a new wiring loom, ok its off my old blue zed, but the connections were spotless when i stuck it on around 8 months ago. worth a check anyway as ill be testing the injectors.

Is this resolved?

It won't be your O2 sensors. The fuelling goes into open-loop upon hard acceleration, so O2 sensors have zero effect on AFR. It was mapped to the usual AFR I map most Zeds to using a calibrated wideband lambda sensor, so it wasn't overfuelling when mapped. Still have all the log files from your session :)

Have you investigated possible boost leaks?

I have a couple of spare 02 sensors if you want to try one?

I can post it to you Voddy???

If it helps.....

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Just to add to this thread please nobody be tempted by e bay 02 sensors, dont waste your money. From the ones ive seen not worth the money and aggro to fit them,Nearly 9 times out of 10 they wont last or give poor readings.
