Well car failed the MOT today, on a split steering gator, can you bloody believe it  unfortunately cant get one in time for today so going to leave it till after xmas, only advisories were the front and rear brake pads, which i have had for some time but with the weather recently couldnt get it done.

Im not happy that it failed as it has passed every year, but im happy its nothing major :thumbup1:

Its always a nice surprise when its only a small issue it fails on :)

Remember years ago getting a 3 page list for one of my cars! Although it was all little stuff and I had it fixed and back there the next day.

When you get a pass every year it does feel like a disappointment when it fails even for a minor item but an easy fix for you Graham.

Agreed......

....And at least you now have the black one to keep you going Graham...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It is a disappointment Gary, but considering its driven everyday, i cant complain really :thumbup1:

I should have kept on top of little bits and it would have sailed through, but been too busy of late

Took the zed back in today to have the steering gaiter fitted and re MOT'd and passed

Only took them about half hour with two mechanics to sort the gaiter, it would have taken me an hour or so on the ground and would have got soaking wet in the process  so worth paying a few quid for it fitted :thumbup1:

Sometime it just makes sense to have it done by a mechanic, rather than getting soaked and frozen !

Good to hear it didn't need much to pass :)

It is mate, although got to tax it at the end of this month, but might do it for 12 months then dont have to think about it till next year

Just took mine for an mot, sadly it failed!

Luckily it was only a few minor bits...

1- n/s indicator (wing) not working.

2- rear fogs not working

3- nearside headlamp adversely affected by the operation of another lamp.

1+2 should be an easy fix, hoping that 3 isn't going to be a pain in the arse!

Bulbs should have been a must check before taking it for an mot lol

Number 3 could be an earth short, i guess they are saying that when the main beam is on the dip is on slightly on that side, unless you have more detailed description of the fault.

I know I should have checked the bulbs before hand but it was raining

Anyway, all fixed now!

Indicator and headlight were just bad connectors, quick spray of contact cleaner and a wire brush.... Job done.

Fog light was a wire had come off the back of the switch on the dash, must have come off when I pulled out the shitty under dash lighting the previous owner had installed.

Now I have another years mot with no advisories at all :)

Not bad considering its my daily driver (no matter what the weather)!

Think I'm going to treat me and the family to pub dinner now as a small celebration

Mine failed yesterday also, just to keep up with the trend!

Emissions and believe this - the colour of the indicator bulbs - not orange enough!

Big up to Jeff at Zedworld with some brilliant advice!
