Well we are i beleive on the home straight engine work pretty much done and hopefully back in the car by now, Lee tells me he's jet washed and repainted parts of my engine bay so im a giddy kipper at the moment waiting for a collection date.

From whats been found it looks like ive never had the pleasure of driving my car in fighting fit trim so i cant wait to drive it now its all sorted. The two engine mounts literally torn in half were a real eye opener ill tell you !!

Just a quick photo of my engine bay after the "Lee Dent" treatment. I have to say Lee has been an absulute superstar during this build, i was not prepared for the sight of my engine when i went to pick it up. To put it mildly i was blown away with the quality of his work. The test drive confirmed everthing he had promised, it is a different car to drive altogether, smooth, responsive and with the blitz boost controller setup he fitted that looks almost factory, the turbo response is better than any time during my ownership. With all the deletes done and all the cleaning, painting painting and polished parts installed i couldnt be happier with the results.

So a massive thanks Lee and his crew for transforming my zed, i liked it before but now its a different animal altogether, i love it, especially when the baileys go off.

Phutumsch recommended i took my car to Lee and im glad i listened, ill post some more pics later and details of what got done , if you are in any doubt weather to use Lee.....dont hesitate the guy is a legend his work is phenomenal

Looking very nice Ian. Lee is currently working on my engine & gearbox & I can't wait to see it finished & get it fitted.

Looks brilliant Ian. Can't wait to see the finished article in the flesh, watched most of the work get done, then was bad for the finish.....lol, bet it goes like a dream hey?

Excellent buddy! I saw this in progress and I particularly liked the intercooler mounts, I've seen people leave them dangling from the top brackets...

Going to greet him tomorrow hopfully see if I can get him

Roped into anything I'm doing hehe!

Glad you like it bud, it looks excellent!

Ive not had chance to do any shakedown runs in it yet, been in France on business most of the week, if it ever stops raining ill take it for a propper blast. The run home from Lees in the rain was interesting!!. Car ran flawlessly and boosted well on the motorway once hot, a problem i had before the work was that boost was rubbish to non existant once warm, i knew i had leaks all over the place but thats all sorted now. Lee leak tested it while i watched before i drove it away. Tom bet you cant wait to get yr engine done im sure you will be well pleased.

so what did he do mate?

Well where to begin really I dropped it off and asked Lee to go through the engine and sort all my boost leaks out and check all my sensors, compression and injectors along with a few other bits and pieces !!!!.

Within a couple of days the engine was out and the work started .

Lee found some real horrors under the skin, melted knock sensor destroyed engine mounts holed boost pipes to name but a few so he duly set about making things right.

Couple this with Lees shiney shiney disorder, ( an affliction I share myself), and you can see why my engine turned out the way it has.

Once stripped the engine was found to be covered in waxoyl which was apparently a bit of a chore to remove.

All the deletes were done and all unneeded pipes were removed and the ones to remain were cleaned and repainted.

New hoses were fitted throughout using a mixture of blue silicone and std black ones as required.

Every single injector and coil pack connector has been cut off and replaced with later ones and soldered and heat shrinked to tidy up.

Cas was checked, found to be OK and painted black, along with the timing covers, coil pack brackets and all modified metal pipes.

Polished plenum, front water pipes and cas bracket fitted, new S2 PTU unit fitted hard wired to existing wiring and shrink wrapped. Turbos checked pipework tidied up to work with the Blitz EBC.

Gearbox checked, new fluid, new reverse switch installed. Diff fluid changed, exhaust back boxes polished and transmition tunnel and underside fresh coat of stone chip.

Bumper removed to relocate the HID ballast units under the headlights, Toyosport Front Mounted Intercooler and pipework installed, Twin Bailey dump valves fitted to replace std recirc valves.

Uprated ally rad fitted and st. steel retaining bracket.

Alarm unit relocated under wing to make room near the engine for the solenoid unit for the boost controller.

Carbon canister deleted from under the other wing, checked and bled the clutch.

Blitz electronic boost controller, power meter and turbo timer installed in the dash, I have to say this looks almost factory and is very neat with the turbo timer installed in the centre console cubby compartment. Illuminated 99 spec rear panel installed and wired up, (looks the dogs).

All this has made a huge difference to the car, from the first turn of the key, even at idle I could tell the difference. the car runs much smoother and quieter than before and the boost response is a massive improvement.

Its amazing the stuff Lee found from previous work, wires twisted and taped together, bolt missing from the flywheel, the list goes on.

Luckily this is not the way Lee does things, you can tell this by the fact that he replaced almost every bolt he took off with stainless replacements, new clips and pipes everywhere, I watched him work and believe me he misses NOTHING he treats the car like it was his own and takes pride in his work.

No worries Ian, glad your back on your feet matey, as soon as it stops raining we can arrange a meet or two to get together, yes it does run like a dream buddy but im yet to open it up fully till the roads dry up given whats happened to other cars recently I dare not risk it.
