Power Antenna problem...today

So, went for a spin yesterday in the Zed and came home as usual. Didn't notice anything until this morning - the power antenna on the car was still fully extended - which was surprising. So, after turning the alarm on/off a few times and starting and driving the car up and down the road this morning, it hasn't moved. It is still up.

I have noticed that the illuminated side light on that side (below the antenna) has gone out (the other side is still illuminating) so I am thinking something has fused???

Any thoughts on what is causing the antenna not to go down or why the side light has gone out? I checked the bulb in the side light before anyone asks! (It was fine).

Thanks,

Greg

Even though it's a light and on the side, don't call it a side light !!!!

Rear marker is better and it's not a fuse as these are most likely or should be picking up power from your sidelight circuit, one out will be loose/bad connection either wiring or the actual bulb holder itself.

The light and aerial failing could be an unrelated coincidence....

But regarding the aerial, it might the plastic reel inside it has broken; when you turn the radio on and off, does the aerial motor still sound like it's functioning? Sometimes they just seize with dirt and grime etc - spray the mast with WD40 and manually move it up and down (in conjunction with turning the radio on and off, to avoid breaking it by force:wink:).

If not, then it could be the connection has been interrupted; a loos wire or blown fuse. Or it could be the relay module which has failed - it's a white-opaque box the size of a cigarette pack, just inside the right hand boot trip panel.

Good luck in fixing it mate,

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
