Ive discovered that my steering wheel turns left and right. lol what i mean is that shifts from left to right theres no steering adjustment option, so i removed the panel below the steering wheel to access the steering column there seems to be a plate side on going across the column with a bolt. the bolt seems tight, and while moving the wheel in a left to right motion you can the the column moving side to side. does anyone have any info on this? is it meant to move sideways a little?

there is a sleeve that fits down inside the bottom plate, sometimes this comes out and give the symptoms you describe.

 

I used a hammer and a piece of metal to (gently) knock the section back into place.

 

I think if you do a search on loose column or play in steering column or something like that you might find a few posts on it.

 

If you can't find anything I'll see if I can take a few pics of my spare one and show you the section.
