If a member posts a photo and it says heres my car ! Is that regarded as heres my car what do you think? I am somewhat confused. because I have never asked or wanted the opinion of anybody over the look of my car, so what gives anybody the right to take photos off my facebook profile post them on here and slate it? For those of you that dont know me or my car,mine is the white factory manual shorty with neon paint all over, before you think about commenting its not for sale Im not asking you to drive it and whether you like it or not, its MINE !!!!! Therefore please do not feel the need to express your opinion on my choices as I dont really care to be truthful. My car matches my personality perfect,LOUD and in yer FACE ! My exhaust records 91db on tickover I drive it like I stole it but most importantly Im the one picking up the bills for it, so what gives anybody the right to disrespect my personal choices ?

Thank you for the apology to our members for any offense you may have caused, it is appreciated and I respect that. I have deleted the post and therefore the link too. I do agree with what you say, although I would like to point out that the picture wasn't posted on 300zx.co.uk only a link that a member had found on another site and posted up here.

 

I'm quite happy to leave this thread open for discussion but can all members please keep it to that, a discussion. I don't want the thread turned into an argument please.

It's your car and it is for you to enjoy. I haven't actually seen it yet. But if we all kept our cars the same then life would be boring. The minority will always have something to say. You've apologised and if anyone else has done something wrong I'm sure they will. I don't remember the thread so I can't comment on what's been said, just enjoy your car and move on is what I thinks best :)

Hi Gordy, it has been said many times that what an owner wants to do to their cars is their choice and if its not everyones cup of tea then tough :thumbup1:, however, regardless of the link posted yesterday, if a zed, is way out there to the norm then i would expect comments, good or bad, after all you have modified your car how you like it and you want to be noticed, so dont take it too much to heart.

 

It was unfortunate that the posts linked to Barry boys already slated your car and like many who jump on the bandwagon also like to comment, but obviously many people were not aware that you are a member here.

 

Although not my cup of tea, it does stand out, so continue to enjoy and post up some pics and your ideas behind the scheme :thumbup:

It wasnt the comments regarding style that bothered me as much as "1 mot from the scrapyard" No it was destined for the scrapyard until an idiot like me came along and pumped approx £8k into her. So that to me was personally offensive my paint is MARMITE love or hate it not bothered. I just felt the urge to ask the question

yes, if you create a thread with a picture to show of your car on an internet forum then you should expect comments, and wether you will admit it or not that is why people post the pictures. If your car is controversial you shouldn't really be surprised that not all comments are positive.

 

Personally if I don't have anything nice to say then I tend not to say anything at all, but many are not so reserved and some could probably do with winding it in a bit. (I've not seen the thread, but I'm guessing what happened)

Most of the grief wasn't from here, the link was nearly posted from Barry boys, rightly or wrongly. That not comment came from Barry boys yeah? Hence why I was confused as to what you were on about when I read your reply.

Thing is if your going to modify your car in that way, your going to create marmite. It will polarise opinion because it's a bit extreme. You've gotta expect that, I'd give you a ribbing over its new rave looks :p but it would be just that a ribbing, some banter. As you say it's not mine, I don't drive it what's it matter to me.

I also realise you didn't post up pictures of it, ergo asked for no opinions. However as already said, itsca car that will polarise opinions and will stand out. You can now officially say it's loud and in your face as it's been publicly discussed without you prompting it. Wether that was positive or negative is fairly irrelivant.

I'm guessing by your screen name and offer of coming to the POD your more of a driver than a shower anyway and that's fine, at least your out there using it.

I respect your choice to do something different, however I also reserve my right to dislike it. You probably think mines boring, I don't care tbh and neither should you.

Fair play to you for posting and I completley agree with the fact it's your car and you do what the hell you like with it :) Don't worry about anyone elses opinion, it's your that matter so just smile and don't worry about it too much.

 

This is a fantastic forum and people wil always make comments good and bad - isn't that what a forum does? :) If I was you, maybe join the forum and just let people say what they will cos no one really means anything bad and personal ;)

the internet is Freedom of speech any one putting up pics of there car or anthing for that matter is going to be open to Criticism if you or anyone else cant handle this then you should not post pics of cars or anything on the net for the whole world to to see its that simple if a fit I huge spoiler to may car that's higer then you roof that I thhnk looks great then I think ok I will post some pics on here or the internet for the whole world to see then I should know some people will say that's great or that is over the top and looks sh*$ I know full well that people are going to comment on it now if I cant handle that THEN I SHOULD NOT POST PICS ON THE INTERNET !!!

Personally i find it disgusting people bashing another members car in the way they do on barry's boys, now i know this was not done on this forum, it was done off forum but the link was posted here for some reaction, especially with the thread title.

 

Its fine to have a different opinion on what you do not like / like, but why do it in a hurtful sometimes brutal way?, this isn't like standing in front of someone and bashing while having the bonus of facial expressions, this is in text on a forum where you can happily read what you type before posting, regardless if You dislike what someone has done, how about commenting in a tactful way rather than a bashing the living shit and cause as much pain as possible, these cars are peoples pride and joy's, with a lot of money and sometimes a lot of effort put in to even keep it on the road.

 

Now dont get me wrong, ive shared a comment or two before on these very pages about some horrible sights in the zed world, most of it is pure banter, I never set out to cause offence, especially when its a members car on here, but some people do like to take things too far, so id advice all members to just take a bit of time and think before posting.

the internet is not freedom of speech as much as what rules certain sites allow, like we do not condone and will not tolerate talk of copy-write infringement / Porn sites ect: and any posts like that WILL be removed. So yes, in one way you are correct in saying you are free to speak it, but you should also be aware that this site is run for our members and we WILL remove posts and people if we feel the well being of this forum is being effected. That includes excessive bashing of members cars. they put a photo up to show off their "Pride and joy" just like anyone else, and should not feel that they can not JUST because it doesn't conform to someone else's tastes, shame some people do not know how to word "Its not to my tastes" a bit better.

if theres something on tv i dont like, i dont ring them up to complain i just simply turn it over.

No there is a vast difference between someone saying "I don't like those wheels" and "it looks like glittery shit" isn't there, im sure you will agree on that. A lot of people class their 300zx as part of the family and when someone basically bashes it - im not on about showing a difference of opinion as in "i don't like those wheels" but a general attack on the car its self, people take that very personally indeed as it feels like an attack on them.

 

Now last time i checked, we are all supposed to be adults on this, and as adults we know that things said, can hurt each other, if we are on this forum for the same reason, why be an ass about it? seriously? why a personal attack?

 

Yes have a different opinion, but on here, don't be an ass about it. Not that hard a concept to understand, leave that sort of stuff for other websites like barry's boys.

If you had read what i put, you would understand that i said about leaving those comments to places such as barry boys I wasnt saying people were bashing like that on here, even though it has happened in the past, i was giving a general warning to our members that, bashing like that will not be tolerated on our forum, Yes have a different opinion but please don't be an ass about it. that's what i was getting at.

 

Ive seen it way to many times on other forums, and even facebook pages, that those with Stock cars, some how think they are more "Elite" than someone who has modified their car to make it look different.

Ignore the Barry boys comments they are all just a bunch of keyboard warriors over there. People like them wouldn't DREAM of voicing their opinion in the same instance if it was face to face -FACT.

 

However by posting it online you are going to get forced opinion whether you like it or not - will have to agree with dan on that.

I only wish they posted the pic of the car prior to July when the car wasn't even drive able, then to see the difference if not tasteful but still amazing . I do go to all the big shows I made Trax and last Jap show on the 300zx stand. It's not the finished article by a long way, bonnet nose panel bumper wheels paint are all being changed now, the fluro look was always a temporary look same as the VS1 front. I've not posted any photos of my car on here yet because it is work in progress but it will always remain to my taste and style !

That's fine if it's you that posts the pics however, I didn't post the pics but the person who did uses the same avitar on here as they do on barryboys, I don't ask for opinions because only mine matters when it comes to my family and car!
