:lol: yes i agree, the doors have a thud now when shut instead of a hollow can, im not convinced yet that sound deadening everything like me and vijay have done is any more efficient than specific panels or areas akin to how it was done in the factory, but once you get started its hard to stop

My Z isn't on the road yet but I did my 4x4 too and it made a huge difference. I haven't done the doors or roof yet but it instantly cut out road noise and it was like someone had changed the speakers too! It's a lot of work but I think it's worth it personally.

I was gona get some stuff off ebay. Didn't think there would be much difference in quality.

Ive been busy on my new project converting a t5 panel van to a day van, before insulating it with rockwool I used 3mm cork gasget material comes in sheets, glued this to the panel of the van and wow surprised at the difference I may use it on the zed

I have tried a few, but always end up back with Dynamat...... Just done the whole Z with it..... I will let you know how it sounds next year when she gets on the road......lol

Cost about £140 for the whole car done, got it from ebay...

Brown bread is good stuff as well.....

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

this is the light weight dynamat what about the dynamat extreme wonder what the difference in weight is

I used 12 pieces, but have a T top LWB.... Boot took about 4 pieces.....

Floor pan was 2 either side, roof was offcuts, rear qtrs were 1 cut in sections for both sides, rear seat section was done in strips 1 sheet, doors 1 sheet each....

I know some people cover all the metalwork, but I was told to do it in sections as you don't need to smother the entire panel....

Just make sure it is cleaned properly before applying it and warm it up with hairdryer to get a nice bond.... I used a wallpaper roller to press it down on edges....

I used Dynamat extreme and got 2 packs as that is all I could get at the time.... they were about £70 a pack...
