Here's the damage from earlier, I must insist no mention of my cars value is NOT to be mentioned in an open forum for insurance purposes. Thanks.

So that being said how much do we think this lot will cost. The rear panel is fubar! The metal panel below is huge and goes all the way round to the doors so that's un replaceable the rear bumper is also a bit of a mess and isn't straight anymore.

well as if the insurance are going to repair it all parts will be brand New if can be replaced with new

only occasions will they use 2nd hand part

really its going to be very hard for any one on here to value your damage

best take it to a body shop to check the hidden damage

Cheers mark, was expecting that to be honest, you should see his car it's a bloody joke. Sod all damage just a bit of a nick right under the bumper and the rear lip as come away slightly. Thanks for the reply though.

Hmmmmmmmmmm........need to see in person but can't see anything that isn't repairable, Paint will be the bugger to match!

Ahhh just the man, was going to pm you but didn't see you online, I think the cost is going to be really high to be honest. I also don't fancy travelling all the way to Nottingham just for a quote. So any guestimations will be fine, as ill do a couple of trips to local body shops aswel.

Many thanks

How the hell can the guy claim there was no damage to your Mrs. What did he say when you spoke to him after 5pm ?

Looks like :

Centre light panel - replace

Rear bumper - replace

Rear panel damage - repair

Bumper reinforcement beam - Possibly needed, hard to tell, you would need to check

Insurance repair would be quite significant and would'nt suprise me if they wanted to write it off. However as a non-insurance repair its very easily salvageable with some 2nd hand parts and a good bodyshop.

As said above really, Manta would need to see it to be 100% but the obvious parts can be bought second hand, hidden damage is always an issue before stripping, however the rear panel under the light and the bumper damage is quite high this would most likely make hidden damage to be less likely.

The panel under the light is best repaired with a slight pull and some metal working, the only bit that is difficult is paint matching either way still going to be around £500+ to repair yourself, an insurance repair would be more like that in labour +paint and materials and £1k for parts ( all new from Nissan) by the time you have added vat its a £2k repair madness I know, and until the other party admits fault you will have to pay your excess and claim it back.

Note: The rear spoiler would not be done under any insurance claim as it looks to be suffering from water ingress already, so it would be "betterment" so you would end up paying for it.

Remember even a no fault accidents will effect your policy next year, unfair I know but that`s the reality with insurance today, and we thought Dick Turpin was dead!

Without an agreed value on your insurance the damage to that car through them well be enough forthem to write it of. And when the insurance valuer comes around you want to be saying to him rather tham your insurance comming and picking up the car.whitch buy the time a recovery come around and charge the insurance company another couple hundred quid aske the question to save you money can i keep the car.

if someone ran into you then you can make them restore the car to its pre accident condition, you don't have to accept them to write it off.

Same thing happened to my cousin a few years ago in his R33, guy rear ended him due to not clearing his windscreen of frost.

It was a lot worse than yours and they wanted to scrap it, but he wanted it fixed and they had to do it by law according to his insurance company

Hi guys cheers for the responses, I've had time to think and I'll be letting him know the approximate costs of the work to be carried out. What I think is going to happen will be calling the insurance and having the payout on the car, then buy it back and either repair or brake it. I have to use my head and do it in such a way I can gain the most amount of money, due to the terrible few months I've had financially. I'll keep you all informed on how it pans out. Ruishy1 you are absolutely right and I can insist on making them pay for the car to be in a condition pre accident. It's so etching I'll have to think about.
