Hi guys,

My mechanic came around today to fit these arms:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300ZX-Z32-90-96-JDM-Front-Adjustable-Upper-Camber-Arm-Upper-Arms-/370936356724?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item565d879f74

The trouble is he said that they don't fit!?.. apparently the ends are too wide? he said if they were lathed down they might fit and he did try to do one end to fit bit no luck...

Also he said they didn't seem to tighten when doing up the allen key bits, has anyone had experience with this?! Any help would be much appreciated!

Kind regards,

W

Maybe sent the wrong part by mistake?

obviously if the mechanic as altered them in anyway you wont be able to return them now, personally i would have contacted them first before taking actions into modifying the parts.

I know I wish he hadn't tried to make them fit.. Just found the actual part listing I bought them from and it was a private seller 2 months ago...

apparently it is the anodised blue bit which sticks out making them too wide... Woudl it cause problems if they don't tighten fully on the allen keys also?...

Have fitted many variants of these and those look the correct fit to me, in fact one end is slightly wider than the other on some and you have to be sure they are the correct way around as one end will fit and the other will not in the section fitted to the body.

The allen key bolts are essential to be tight as the threads are quite coarse on the adjustment section if the locking collars are not tight there will be movement in the thread, not over tightening will fracture the locking collars.

Thanks for teh replues guys. I couldn't find anythign by Draxan on the issue but have seen people fit ones which look IDENTICAL to these so I will dive under teh car today and check it out for myself and be back with some photos.

Perhaps I can compare the width of mine to the width of some other 300zx arms. I bet they are the same though.....

So I have just been under her and seen what all the fuss is about... The arms ends are about 3mm wider including the blue anodised bearings than the holder they need to go into... My mechanic said getting them on a lathe would sort it he imagined... So why may they not fit? the arms are coming out at 11.1cm ish, where as the gaps are 10.8cm ish. C

could this be that the current arms have been overtightened and made the gab smaller? (I think they have softer bushings perhaps?)

So if I found a lathe and just shaved a few mm off then it may solve the issue?...

On a third note - Does anyone have a lathe?.. Happy to pay you to spend a few minutes on them if at all possible..
