Isnt there an oil cooler that sits near the diff area that is only on a uk car or is it a cooler for somthing else.is it a rear diff oil cooler

Uk cars have additional cooling that Jspec cars do not have.

In autos, an additional dedicated cooler, as apposed to the radiator loop on Jspec cars.

In manuals a dedicated box cooler exists albeit small, there is no cooler on a Jspec. I have mine looped out on the recommendation of silver bullet who never had one on his track car, he considered it unnecessary.

Engine oil coolers, the uk spec is a 19 row (aka nismo cooler) the Jspec is roughly half that size.

The last two are the diff oil cooler and power steering fluid cooler, being located in the rear and front as you would expect. These are both uk only things. For a side note iirc the Psf cooler is on a hicas line, look into that.

I have a uk car yes there is a cooler for the diff but don't take it it off its a good thing to have the auto box cooler in the uk car is in the rad loop when I changed my rad I fitted a dedicated oil cooler for the auto box

uk car has a dif cooler

the jap car don't have it the uk cars do deffo keep it its only a good thing to have keep the diff oil cooler no reason to remove it atall

You may as well ditch the diff cooler as it's over engineering from Nissan and the chances are it doesn't have any oil in it anyway.

Having been involved with breaking way too many zeds and many been UK spec, never once have I removed a diff cooler that had any sign of oil ever been in it, the cooler sits high up and for it to operate the diff has to get very very hot, this in turn activates the pump, as the diff cools the pump switched off and the oil in the cooler drains back to the diff.

I believe the temperature the switch activates at is simply too high and so the system never works, again and again I have removed these coolers and inside they look clean and dry, the coolers pipe work sits a bit lower and will some times leak oil so some does make into there sometimes but not by the pump action.

The pipe work coming out of the cooler is easily broken and often these can fracture in use, as a result many UK zeds diff coolers have been deleted anyway, diff failure is rare and when it does occur it usually will be caused by leaks.

The other thing to consider is where diffs have failed on UK spec cars they are replaced by Jap spec ones anyway as there is more of those available, so kind of blows the argument for needing a cooler.

Oil coolers were added/upgraded to Euro spec cars after high speed testing by Nissan on German autobahns.

The description of the system is here:

Exactly! as suggested above if you have one fitted leave it, if it leaks / breaks take it out.
