Hey, does anyone have any suggestions to how I separate the thrust bearing carrier, from the thrust bearing?

Do I need a garage to press it out / in?

Also, lubrication wise, I was going to use a high temperature lithium grease? - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARLUBE-LM2-MULTI-PURPOSE-GREASE-500g-TUB-LITHIUM-BASED-HIGH-MELTING-POINT-/320998109632?pt=UK_Vehicle_Oils_Lubricants_Fluids&hash=item4abcfa71c0

it will tap out and new one back in .. use a vise or something alike and a Socket the same diameter as the Hub its self and tap it off the bearing

Well I got it apart and the new bearing is on. Initially I put it together the wrong way around, it looks different from the original, not really what I was expecting. I mean the front is very open, with that big groove, it's almost asking for some grit or something to get to the bearings...

Spring retainer is on the wrong way around and looks like it needs straightening slightly, the difference between the two is your original one is of spurious design more akin to a non turbo bearing, the new one is a twin turbo bearing of original design.

Weird, I haven't removed the Spring retainer, so it's been on the car that way around, unless a previous owner has re-fitted it incorrectly.
